Andy Richter cheats on Conan O’Brien with Stephen Colbert
August 12th, 2025 under Stephen Colbert. [ Comments: none ]

A few weeks ago, we found out that Stephen Colbert is going to guest on the season premiere of Elsbeth as a late night host.

Now, we are learning from Deadline that Andy Richter will play the hilarious but long-suffering sidekick to Scotty (Colbert) on the fictional Way Late. Richter’s character is married to Amy Sedaris, who will play the headstrong, devoted head writer and executive producer.

My prediction is that they will scheme to and successfully murder Colbert, who has said he wants to play a corpse on the police procedural, so that they can take over Way Late. However, they won’t get away with murder because Elsbeth (Carrie Preston) will figure it out.

Richter should have no problem with the role, after all, he was Conan O’Brien’s sidekick for over 25 years on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, and Conan.

The season premiere airs October 12th on CBS (unless Donald Trump gets it cancelled), and I can’t wait to see it! It will probably be the funniest show of the week…if South Park isn’t on that week.

Will Stephen Colbert play a corpse on Elsbeth?
August 3rd, 2025 under Stephen Colbert. [ Comments: none ]

Back in February, Wendell Pierce was on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and the host told him he wanted to play a corpse on the police procedural. And the actor said he would make it happen.

Well, he did. According to Vulture, Colbert is going to play the host of Way Late with Scotty Bristol in that episode, which is filming now.

CBS has not confirmed his appearance, but Josef Adalian is speculating that it will be on the special season premiere that will air after an NFL game on October 12th.

The casting, which has been in the works for a while, is even more exciting because of the late night show’s cancellation a few weeks ago.

Stephen Colbert takes the gloves off!
July 22nd, 2025 under Stephen Colbert. [ Comments: none ]

Last week, CBS cancelled The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and a lot of people are speculating that Donald Trump played a part in it. That is because Paramount just settled a lawsuit with the president over a 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris. They believe that part of that agreement was the cancellation of Colbert’s show, due to the fact that he has been a vocal opponent of Trump since he came down the escalator.

After the cancellation went public, Mr. Orange said he loved that Colbert was fired. However, what he didn’t realize is that Colbert still has ten months left of his contract. That’s right. From now until May, the host can say whatever he wants, and there is nothing potus can do about it. I mean, he has already been fired. What are they going to do, fire him again?

So, yesterday, Colbert got in the ring, took off the gloves, and went below the belt. He did this by showing us that Trump’s scribbled signature is like the pubic hair of a naked lady drawn on a birthday card to a former BFF, Jeffrey Epstein. And now that image will forever be stuck in my head.

Back to the monologue. Colbert had a message for his enemy: “Go fuck yourself!” And the audience loved it, as did I.

They also loved it when he came out of commercial break and brought out Weird Al Yankovic and Lin-Manuel Miranda to cheer him up with a song. The two songwriters picked a Coldplay song to perform as the camera panned the audience and showed the other East Coast late night hosts, Andy Cohen, Anderson Cooper, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Jon Stewart, and John Oliver, supporting him.

Because these are not the days of Jay Leno and David Letterman, or Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien. The late night hosts have banded together, and Trump has opened a can of whoop ass on himself.

Trump is too dumb to realize that you don’t want to pick on the wrong kid because they will fight back and win. If his feelings were hurt before this, just wait. They are just getting started.

There will be ketchup.

CBS cancels The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and with it late night TV
July 17th, 2025 under Stephen Colbert. [ Comments: 1 ]

Stephen Colbert started his show off tonight with a shocking announcement: CBS has decided to cancel The Late Show and not replace it at the end of next season when it ends.

George Cheeks, Co-CEO Paramount Global and President and Chief Executive Officer, CBS, Amy Reisenbach, President, CBS Entertainment, and David Staph, President, CBS Studios said in a statement: “This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night. It is not related in any way to the show’s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount.

“Our admiration, affection, and respect for the talents of Stephen Colbert and his incredible team made this agonizing decision even more difficult. Stephen has taken CBS late night by storm with cutting-edge comedy, a must-watch monologue and interviews with leaders in entertainment, politics, news and newsmakers across all areas. The show has been #1 in late night for nine straight seasons; Stephen’s comedy resonates daily across digital and social media; and the broadcast is a staple of the nation’s zeitgeist.”

However, people are questioning whether they are truly doing it for financial reasons. Colbert has been very vocal about his contempt for the current president, and the president recently won a multimillion-dollar settlement from CBS over an interview on 60 Minutes with Kamala Harris. Therefore, it seems that politics might have played a role.

I think it is a little of both. Late-night television is slowly dying, even Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers have said that.

Plus, CBS got to test the waters of not having a show on 12:35a when James Corden left The Late Late Show in 2023. They tried to replace it with After Midnight, but after two seasons, Taylor Tomlinson decided to exit the show, and the network pulled the plug. They are replacing that show with a Byron Allen show that has already been produced. So they have gotten to see how much money they could save without them producing a show to fill the hour.

We also know that Paramount, CBS’s parent company, is struggling to survive, which is why they are hoping to sell it to Skydance Media. They just need the FCC’s approval, and a Trumper is running the federal agency.

Is the cancellation something that might’ve been part of the settlement? We don’t know. But if I were Colbert, I would take the gloves off and go after the president and his administration like he never has before. What is CBS going to do, fire him? They already did that.

The Late Show debuted in 1993 with David Letterman as the host. He retired in 2015, and Colbert has been doing the job since.

We’ve been saying Daniel Craig’s name incorrectly
December 3rd, 2024 under James Bond, Stephen Colbert, We've Been Mispronouncing Their Name. [ Comments: none ]

I don’t know about you, but I have been pronouncing Daniel Craig’s last name as Cregg, like Greg. It turns out I am wrong.

Yesterday, when Craig, Daniel Craig was on The Late Show, he told Stephen Colbert, who has also been mispronouncing his name, the correct way to say it.

So, what is the proper way to his surname? It is Craygg, like egg. That is crayggzy.

The more you know…

Here is another fact we learned during that interview. While Stephen Colbert pronounces his last as Coal-bear, some of his other ten siblings go by Coal-bert.

How did that happen? Stephen’s grandfather went by Coal-bert. However, his dad wanted to use the French pronunciation. But his grandfather said no to his dad because he was a Jr. So Stephen’s dad told his children they can by either. Guess which one he chose? Obvious, you know!

Now, I want to change how I pronounce my name to be cool like them.
