How Mayim Bialik honors Leslie Jordan in his send-off episode tonight
January 5th, 2023 under Leslie Jordan, Mayim Bialik. [ Comments: none ]

On October 24th, Leslie Jordan died suddenly on his way to film Call Me Kat. Tonight at 9:30p, the Fox sitcom is going to say goodbye to him.

Mayim Bialik found a way to have part of her friend still appear in the series. “I didn’t know until Leslie died that he and I wore the same size shoes,” the actress wrote. “For our tribute episode, I am wearing one of his signature rainbow sneakers he’s been wearing on our show. They’re under the table and you may not even see them on camera, but I knew they were under there. Looking for any way to keep him close I guess. 🌈 #callmekat”

So watch out for his sneakers as Bialik learns what it is like to walk in the lovable late actor’s shoes. Literally.

I am here for the Nicolas Cage resurgence
January 5th, 2023 under Nicolas Cage. [ Comments: none ]

Let’s be honest. Nicolas Cage’s career was in a downward spiral for a long time. But then, he did The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, and now it looks like it is climbing back up from the depths of hell.

Now the actor, who some people assume is immortal, is playing one in Renfield. In this modern monster tale of Dracula’s loyal servant, Nicholas Hoult stars as Renfield, the tortured aide to history’s most narcissistic boss, Dracula (Nicolas Cage). Renfield is forced to procure his master’s prey and do his every bidding, no matter how debased. But now, after centuries of servitude, Renfield is ready to see if there’s a life outside the shadow of The Prince of Darkness. If only he can figure out how to end his codependency.

The film looks like it is going to be a lighthearted and fun Vampire movie, just what the genre needs.

And so does Horror, which seems like it will have a good year thanks to Megan, Cocaine Bear, and now this on April 14th! Who needs superheroes when you can root for the killers?

Jeremy Renner shares a video from the hospital
January 5th, 2023 under Jeremy Renner. [ Comments: none ]

On New Year’s Day, Jeremy Renner was critically injured when his 7-ton snowplow ran over him. Due to the accident, the actor suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and has had at least two surgeries to repair his broken body, with more to come down the road.

The other day, he shared a photo from his ICU bed, and he looked well for someone who has been through something so harrowing.

Today, he shared a video of his sister washing his hair while he is in bed and wrote, “A ‘not no great’ ICU DAY, turned to amazing spa day with my sis and mama❤️. Thank you sooooo much”

Hopefully, today will be a better day for him, and he will get a warm sponge bath from a sexy nurse! He earned it!

Five legendary ’80s songstresses sing a song for 80 For Brady
January 5th, 2023 under Cyndi Lauper, Dolly Parton, Gloria Estefan, Rita Moreno, The Go-Go's. [ Comments: none ]

80 For Brady stars four iconic actresses, Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, and Sally Field. Therefore, it makes sense that they would ask five legends from the ’80s to sing the theme song from the movie and get an esteemed female songwriter to write it.

“When I wrote ‘Gonna Be You’ for 80 FOR BRADY, I wanted to write a song that celebrated these women’s deep friendship,” says Diane Warren. “Since 80 was in the title I got a crazy idea, why not get some of the most iconic singers from the 80s, who are still amazing and always will be, to all sing it?!!!! Everyone I approached said yes and was just as excited as me!! I’m honored to have Dolly Parton, Belinda Carlisle, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan, and Debbie Harry on this song!! ‘Gonna Be You’ is that song you want to sing along to with all your good friends!!!”

I can’t wait to hear the tune on January 12th because you know it is going to score a touchdown. Seriously, it will be the biggest soundtrack single since Moulin Rogues’ Lady Marmalade. I bet you it is going to sweep the Oscars in 2024. How can it not be with all of those ladies involved?
