Billy Porter was a guest on The Late Late Show yesterday, and he made quite an entrance. He came down one side of the stage with a golden cape stretched out that make it look like he has wings. Then he went behind the curtain, did a costume change, and greeted the audience on the other side. He was not done; he then joined the band and played the tambourine. The actor had one more trick; he had several guys bring out a magic carpet and carry him like he was Aladdin to James Corden. While everyone, including Kirsten Dunst, who was the other guest, was thrilled by his entrance, the CBS host was not.
He was so upset; he threw Porter off the show. Did the Pose just leave? Of course not. He did another costume change and sang Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive in his own special way. Pissing Corden even more. Proving that Porter will always survive.
When it comes to Dunst, I do not think she knew that it was all set up before the show started. I mean, Corden knew what he was in for after he asked Porter to sing Karaoke at the Tonys and he belted out Gypsy’s Everything Is Coming Up Roses. It was the show stopper of that night. Even though it happened during a commercial break.
Back to his LLS song choice, I think he should have gone with another Gaynor song, I’m Coming Out. Seemed more fitting for the situation, but that is me.
The couch from Roseanne is as iconic as the show itself. Therefore, when they were getting ready to do the revival of the sitcom, Sara Gilbert tried to get the original couch to be on the show. However, she was not successful.
Yesterday she told Seth Meyers on Late Night, it was actually at the Smithsonian Museum for a while. Then a guy got his hands on it and it added it to his television museum. When the show got picked up, they called him to see if they could use their couch.
He said that he could but with some restrictions. He wanted them to get extra insurance on it worth thousands of dollars, it could only be on the set on filming days, it had to be cleaned and it needed its own security guard. For some reason, the producers said no, but Gilbert still wanted it.
She did not get her wish. And somewhere there is a guy looking at like it is something more than a couch.
Over the last few years, Candy Canes are no longer just peppermint. They are bubblegum, strawberry, chocolate, Coca Cola, Rootbeer and so many other candy flavors.
Archie McPhee does not do those flavors. They already have bacon, clam, mac & cheese, Krampus, coal and pickle. This year they added three new flavors and they are ham, kale and pizza. An interesting array of flavors.
Those are just the candy canes, they also have lobster, gravy, pickle and bacon vegetable sucking candies.
As nasty as all of this sounds, I really want to try all of them. I might order some of them to taste. Then whichever ones I hate, I will put in an unlabeled bowl and let people try them too. The look on their faces will be my holiday joy. Which is why I better get the coal flavored canes.
On Monday, NBC announced that their new streaming service Peacock is doing a Saved By the Bell reboot with Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley. They also said that Zack is the Governor now and he is shutting down low-income schools.
Later that night, Variety spoke to Nark-Paul Gosselaar about it at and asked him how feels about the revival. He told them, “I read it in the trades just like everybody else this morning.” Then added, “I haven’t been approached,” and that he was a little taken off guard with the news. He had no idea they were this far along with the project.
Gosselaar understands that he might not be a part of the show because he is starring in the ABC sitcom Mixed-ish, who owns the streaming site Disney+, there might be a conflict for him to do something on a competitor’s show. If both of them could come up with an agreement, then he would do the reboot. That is if they ask him.
If I were him, I would tell his castmates screw you. Well, I would use other words. I mean how messed up is it that they did not even tell him this was a done deal. Not knocking the rest of the cast, but out of all of them, he is doing the best. He and Tiffani-Amber Theissen are the only ones who are still acting in gigs. They don’t need the show like the other ones.
However, they still should have told him. At least, the Beverly Hills, 90210 cast kept their co-stars in the loops.
Do we really want a SBTB reboot without Zack Morris and Kelly Taylor? Granted we don’t know if Theissen is available to be part of it because she has a show on Netflix, another streaming site. Or if they even told her about it.
I always thought these four were tight and would only do the reboot together. I guess they are not as tight as I thought.
BTW Is just me or does he seem kind of hurt that he did not know about the show?
