Gloria Gaynor will sing I Will Survive on NYE from Times Square
December 16th, 2020 under Gloria Gaynor. [ Comments: none ]

If ever there was a New Year’s Eve in our lifetime that we needed to be reminded that we will survive, it is this one. That is why the producers of Times Square New Year’s Eve asked Gloria Gaynor to be their performer for the night.

The legendary singer will sing her huge hits I Will Survive and Never Can Say Goodbye, along with Joy Comes In The Morning from her 2020 Grammy-winning Gospel album Testimony.

This is the perfect way to welcome in 2021. That is if we make it to December 31st. It is 2020, and anything can happen.

You can watch their NYE virtual celebration live on TimesSquareNYC.org, NewYearsEve.nyc, Livestream.com/2021
and TimesSquareBall.net.

Gloria Gaynor will Survive the Coronavirus
March 12th, 2020 under 70s, Coronavirus, Gloria Gaynor. [ Comments: none ]

@gloriagaynor

It only takes :20 seconds to “SURVIVE!”👏💕🎶 ##iWillSurviveChallenge ##fyp ##coronavirus ##handwashing

♬ I Will Survive – Gloria Gaynor

Back in 1979, Gloria Gaynor sang a little song that you might have heard of. It is called I Will Survive? That is something the Disco singer is going to do because she sings it whenever she washes her hands properly. This way she won’t get the Coronavirus.

We should all do that too so that we can survive to sing that catchy tune at our grandchildren’s wedding. That single never gets old, just like Gaynor.

If you need a how-to poster to wash your hands correctly to her record, then click here!

Billy Porter will survive getting kicked off of the show by James Corden
September 19th, 2019 under Billy Porter, Gloria Gaynor, James Corden, Kirsten Dunst. [ Comments: none ]

Billy Porter was a guest on The Late Late Show yesterday, and he made quite an entrance. He came down one side of the stage with a golden cape stretched out that make it look like he has wings. Then he went behind the curtain, did a costume change, and greeted the audience on the other side. He was not done; he then joined the band and played the tambourine. The actor had one more trick; he had several guys bring out a magic carpet and carry him like he was Aladdin to James Corden. While everyone, including Kirsten Dunst, who was the other guest, was thrilled by his entrance, the CBS host was not.

He was so upset; he threw Porter off the show. Did the Pose just leave? Of course not. He did another costume change and sang Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive in his own special way. Pissing Corden even more. Proving that Porter will always survive.

When it comes to Dunst, I do not think she knew that it was all set up before the show started. I mean, Corden knew what he was in for after he asked Porter to sing Karaoke at the Tonys and he belted out Gypsy’s Everything Is Coming Up Roses. It was the show stopper of that night. Even though it happened during a commercial break.

Back to his LLS song choice, I think he should have gone with another Gaynor song, I’m Coming Out. Seemed more fitting for the situation, but that is me.

Hey, hey it’s actors reading Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive
January 11th, 2017 under Gloria Gaynor, Matthew McConaughey. [ Comments: none ]

W Magazine asked Chris Pine, Haillee Steinfeld, Greta Gerwiq, Michael Shannon, Dakota Fanning, Amy Adams, Taraji P Henson, Felicity Jones, Dev Patel, Ruth Negga, Lucas Hedges, Noamie Harris, Matthew McConaughey and Mahershala Ali to read the most covered song I Will Survive and Gloria Gaynor would not petrified of it. That and I think McConaughey has found a new catchphrase to replace alright, alright, alright and it’s hey, hey. hey, Hey, hey I think I like that.

Remember Gloria Gaynor?
August 6th, 2014 under Gloria Gaynor, Remember?. [ Comments: none ]

Gloria Gaynor proved her looks are a survivor as she attended the premiere of Expendables 3 in Marbella, Spain. Can you believe the Disco Queen is just weeks away from becoming a senior citizen because she looks as good as did when she started singing our clubbing anthem back in 1978. I guess you can say she’s Never Can Say Goodbye to her beauty because she still has it.
