Yesterday, it was revealed that Dawn Wells has had financial problems due to medical issues. So much so, the 79-year-old is $180,000 in debt. In order to move into the assisted living place she wants to reside in, she needs to erase that debt. Therefore, her friend created a GoFundMe page for her to raise the money. The story went world wide and MaryAnn from Gilligan’s Island posted a sweet message on social media.
Wow! I am amazed at the kindness and affection I have received from the current outpouring in regards to the Go Fund Me Page that is grabbing so much attention and want to address it. A dear dear friend of mine with a big heart was trying to help me with some common issues we all understand and some must face. He create that page with the love an emotion like someone protecting their child. In a recent conversation with him I remarked Where did the time go? I don’t know how this happened. I thought I was taking all the proper steps to ensure my golden years. Now, here I am, no family, no husband, no kids and no money. Im grateful that God has given me so many friends and fans who care, or it would all be too ….overwhelming …..I am grateful to any of my fans who are willing to offer support. However, please know that my outlook is positive and I look forward to seeing you all in my travels.
That positive attitude will help her heal and the money will help her have a home. We need to do more to help our elderly when it comes to medical costs. But that is whole other debate.
Tina Louise the only other surviving member from the ’60s sitcom had a very Ginger message for her co-star. She wrote on Twitter, “I just heard that @therealmaryann has not been feeling well. When you were growing up, did you dream of hanging with Jeanie in her bottle? Did you want to work at a radio station like WKRP, just so you could know someone like Jennifer? Did you wish your mother was as rockin’ as Shirley Partridge? We all did! Let’s be real.
Here are the three sitcom Goddesses hanging out recently and Loni Anderson, Barbara Eden and Shirley Jones all look phenomenal. They could easily do a sitcom together and it would be a huge hit. Who wouldn’t want to see these funny beauties back on our TVs every week? Especially because they have not aged a day since their shows ended. Which technically they haven’t because they still all air in syndication.
Seriously, don’t they all look sweller than swell and hotter than Hell!
Back in 1957, Leave It to Beaver debuted and it has been airing ever since. Making it one of the longest running shows on television. Even though it has been 60 years since the show first hit the airwaves, Beaver and his brother Wally are still talking about it. Jerry Mathers, 69, and Tony Dow, 72, were on Today and also on Today with Kathie Lee and Hoda to talk about the family sitcom that forever made them household names.
Did you know that show was on more than one network? Its first season aired on CBS and the remaining 5 were on ABC. A Variety critic said if the show lasted for more than 2 weeks, he would eat his hat. No word how the hat tasted. Also the actors revealed that their TV father, Hugh Beaumont, was working as a Methodist minister at the time and only became an actor to pay the bills. No wonder the show had and still has the wholesome feel.
But the best thing to came out of this interview was seeing how close the TV brothers are even after all of these decades. To me, when a show’s cast is still gets along years after the show has ended, it explains why the show is still a sucess even after it has been cancelled.
CBS announced their Fall schedule today and they are very stable. Of course they have a confusing start on Mondays because of Football but then things calm down.
Mondays starts off with The Big Bang Theory for a few weeks and it will be used to launch Mark Feuerstein’s 9JKL which is loosely based on his life when he was filming USA’s Royal Pains. Then at 9p it is Kevin Can Wait and Me, Myself & I. The latter is about a man’s perspective through three different times of his life, the cast looks off because the younger two don’t look like John Laroquette. Finally, Scorpion closes the night.
Tuesday and Fridays are the exact same. Wednesdays opens with Survivor and ends with Criminal Minds, but in the middle they have David Borenaz’s Seal Team.
Thursdays after NFL starts off with The Big Bang Theory followed by its spinoff Young Sheldon. At 9p, it is still Mom and Life In Pieces. They close the night with Shemar Moore’s SWAT.
Finally, on Sunday they start off with Wisdom of the Crowd and end with NCIS: LA and Madame Secretary.
There is not much to say, but I think it was really smart for them to put The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon together.

Something people outside of Hollywood don’t realize is that a lot of child stars are friends with other child stars from their age group. Many of them are up for the same roles, so they get to know one another and commiserate with each other at auditions. They have a bond that lasts until adulthood and beyond. Therefore, when one of them sadly passes away, it brings them together.
Yesterday, Cathy Silvers from Happy Days invited Erin Murphy aka Tabitha Stephens from Bewitched and Susan Olsen form The Brady Bunch over to talk about their friend Erin Moran, who passed away from 4th stage lung cancer at the age of 56 on Saturday. The three actresses grew up Moran behind the camera, so they lost a dear friend from their youth. For Silvers not only did she lose a friend off camera but one that also played her best friend on Happy Days. For Murphy, she lost someone with the same first name and first initial of her last name. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were sometimes confused for the other one during auditions. Finally, for Olsen it is someone who also knows what it is like the play the youngest child to a big family on TV. Besides all of that, it is someone who knows what they went through growing up in the public eye. Like I said, it is an unbreakable bond.
When it comes to three actresses, who ages range from 52-55, they all look phenomenal. You know, I hope some network sees them together and thinks we should give them a show together like The Golden Girls or Designing Women or Hot In Cleveland. Could you imagine awesome that would be? I would watch! I can totally see Pop TV having with it like they are with Return of the Mac and Hollwyood Darlings! It would be a hit and maybe they can get Alison Arngrim to join in on the fun.
