LA to Vegas takes flight tonight and you want to be on board with this show
January 2nd, 2018 under Dylan McDermott Dermot Mulroney, Fox. [ Comments: none ]

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. What happens on a the flight from LA to Vegas is a very high-in-the-sky-larious sitcom debuting on Fox tonight at 9p!

Every weekend, Captain Dave Pratman (Dylan McDermott) pilots a flight on Jackpot Airlines from LA to Vegas. He is a throwback to the pilots from the ’70s. You know, the ones who drink too much, are completely full of themselves and are also pure sex machines. His co-pilot, Alan (Amir Talai), is quiet, but would do anything to be the captain.

Then there are the flight attendants, Bernard (Nathan Lee Graham) and Ronnie (Kim Matula). Bernard is the cool under pressure steward, who is the sane one in all of the madness during their short weekly journies. Ronnie on the other hand is so over the job and just like the wacky passengers on board with her.

Talking about the passengers, there are three who do the trek with them every week for much different reasons. Artem (Peter Stormare), goes there to play the games. He loves betting and will bet on anything. He is also a wheeler and dealer who loves to have fun. Nichole (Olivia Macklin) is a stripper, who tries to recruit the female passengers and get the males ones to go see her take her clothes off. Finally, there is Colin (Ed Weeks) who travels back and forth to see his son who lives in the city of sin. Sin is what him and Ronnie want to be doing but things seem to keep getting in their way.

Tonight’s episode is your typical pilot that lets you meet the people who put the nuts in airline peanuts. Next week, they contend with a man who dies on the flight and what to do with his dead body. But it is the third episode you really want to watch. That is because Dermot Mulroney guest stars as Dylan McDermott’s replacement. If you could not tell them apart before this episode, it will be even harder after you finally see the two of them acting together.

Actually, you want to check out all of their episodes because I think it is the best new comedy of the 2017-2018 season. This sitcom brings Modern Family’s Steve Levitan back to his roots of pushing the envelope comedies with heart like Greg the Bunny, Stacked and Oliver Beene. Thirty minutes of outrageous laughs that make you glad to tuned in for all of them. Plus, it is perfectly paired with The Mick, another show you should be watching to make your days feel so much better.

Is Josh Groban auditioning to be Lucy from Peanuts?
January 2nd, 2018 under Josh Groban, Snoopy. [ Comments: none ]

Josh Groban was seen sitting behind a psychiatry stand like the one that Lucy van Pelt uses in the Peanuts comic strip; so is he auditioning for her part in the live-action version of the movie that is not coming out? Most likely not, but he did admit that he is “also a client.” I wonder what type of advice Lucy would give him? What would tell him to do if you were the psychiatrist-in-training?

If they do make the live-action Peanuts movie and he gets the part of Lucy, then maybe his dog can play Snoopy?

Carrie Underwood reveals she might look different because of her fall
January 2nd, 2018 under Carrie Underwood. [ Comments: none ]

via SlayMeClarkson
Back in November, Carrie Underwood fell down some steps outside her house in Nashville and now the American Idol is telling her fans that her injuries were much more serious than we thought. We knew she broke her wrist, but she also scratched up her face really bad. So bad, she was rushed into surgery and got 40-50 stitches on her face.

Over the weekend, she gave her fans this update, “Here we are 7 weeks later and, even though I’ve had the best people helping me, I’m still healing and not quite looking the same.” Adding, “I honestly don’t know how things are going to end up but I do know this: I am grateful. I am grateful that it wasn’t much, much, worse. And I am grateful for the people in my life that have been there every step of the way. I’ve still got a ways to go in the recovery process, but it’s encouraging to see every day be a little better than the last.”

While she admits she is not ready to go in front of the camera, she is ready to go behind the mic. In other words, she is returning to the studio next week to record some new music.

No matter how she looks, we are still going to love her. Yes, she is beautiful on the outside but she is even more gorgeous on the inside. We did not just fall in love with her for her face on Idol, we also fell in love with her heavenly voice and warm personality. That is why she has been asked to host so many shows.

Get better soon Carrie, and know we are here for you scars and all. Let Jesus take the wheel and do his magic.

Is Diff’rent Strokes the next show to get a reboot?
January 2nd, 2018 under Gary Coleman, Revivals-Reboots, Stupid Sequels/Remakes, The Facts of Life. [ Comments: none ]

TV has given several shows from the ’90s reboots and revivals and now there could be one from the ’70s which might be coming back to our televisions. Todd Bridges Tweeted, “We maybe doing a new one [Diff’rent Stokes] i will be Willis Drummond I will be adopting two kids of a different color giving them the same opportunity that we where we were giving and showing the world no matter what color you are love conquers all.” I think that is something we need to be watching. The original normalized so much, I would love to see what a new version of it could do.

They obviously did something right the first time because it still airs in syndication on several channels after almost 40 years. Only a handful of shows can say that.

Diff’rent Strokes would also have to be a reboot because sadly Bridges and Charlotte Rae are the only surviving members from the original season. Who knows maybe if they ask nicely, they can get Janet Jackson to reprise her role as his girlfriend. What else is the youngest Jackson doing?
