Ever since The Office ended in 2013, fans of the show have wanted to know when it will be coming back. NBC even hinted it was thinking of reviving the show. Yet the cast says they know nothing about it.
Yesterday, when Ellie Kemper was on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, a caller asked her if we will ever get a reboot? She told them, “I would love there to be a reboot!” Then she added, “But I don’t think there will be so that is a sad answer.”
Are you sad because of her sad answer? Or are you like it ended when it needed to end?
Up until a few months ago, ER was the longest-running medical drama on television. Therefore, it makes sense that people, like me, would want to see the show back on the air. However, is Julianna Margulies one of them?
Extra’s Tanika Ray asked her just that. Now, if you believe the rumors about her, then you would think she would say no. Believe it or not, she said yes with one condition. If George Clooney, Noah Wyle and Erik LaSalle were up for it, then so would she. Of course, she did not mention Anthony Edwards because his character was killed off.
Should we take her yes seriously? Since Clooney could not even do his own Hulu series Catch-22, then I think we have our answer. To be honest, I would be OK if the show came back with Wyle, LaSalle and a few of the people from the latter seasons like Laure Innes, Goran Visnjic, Maura Tierney, Scott Grimes and Alex Kingston. Too bad Paul McCrane would also be out of a revival. Who can forget his character’s death?
Do you want ER to check back in on our televisions?
Remember when NBC announced that they were doing a Coach reboot and you were like no asked for it? That is how I feel about the report that CBS is working on a Northern Exposure reboot with Dr. Joel Fleischman (Rob Morrow) returning to Cicely, Alaska for a funeral.
Back in the ’90s, this was a hot show, but I don’t even think that it is playing in syndication anymore. In order for a reboot or a revival to work, it needs to still be in people’s memories. Without it, you will have another Coach. Where is that reboot?
Since it seems like every sitcom from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s is being rebooted these days, why wouldn’t someone want to do the same for The Facts of Life? According to Deadline, Sony is working on one.
You will never believe who is producing it? Leonardo DiCaprio and Jessica Biel. That is as big of a story as the show itself. I mean shouldn’t he be working on Growing Pains and shouldn’t she be pitching Seventh Heaven? How did they get involved with this show?
Let’s get back to the sitcom, you cannot bring it back without Charlotte Rae, Lisa Whelchel, Nancy McKeon, Mindy Cohn and Kim Fields. Without them, it is just a show about kids going to an all-girls private school.
Why call a show a reboot when maybe all it will have in common with the original is that the school will be called Eastland? I am so over fake reboots that are more their own show than the one it is based on.
Back in 1990, NBC abruptly cancelled ALF and we never found out what happened to our favorite cat-eating alien lifeform. Now, 28 years later, Warner Bros is shopping around a reboot of the show, where ALF returns to Earth and lives with a new family as a possible scenario.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, three of the original writers are on board to bring ALF back to life. If the original writers are working on it, then what about at least one person from the original cast. I get why Max Wright cannot do it, but what about everyone else?
Whether they are involved or not, I would still watch. I love that furry guy. I just hope that the show goes to a streaming site over a broadcast because they will give it more freedom.
