Seven weeks from today, The Goldbergs returns to ABC, but they are already filming it now. I guess Jeff Garlin is still experiencing the lazy days of summer because here he is taking a quick little nap on the set while waiting to film some scenes for the ’80something sitcom. Which you cannot blame him because in the world of production it is always hurry up and wait and wait and wait.
Ever since we found out that Jack dies on This Is Us, we have wanted to know how he dies. We still do not know but the cast has revealed that we will find out when season 2 starts on September 26th.
Yesterday, when Milo Ventimilgia was on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the ABC host wanted to know how his character dies. Sadly, the actor cannot reveal that. Instead he revealed how he does not die. Jack does not die by sticking his head in a microwave while making popcorn, he does not does not die like Elvis Presley did eating a peanut butter banana sandwich on the toilet, Gluten is not the cause of death and finally he was not overcome with emotion during a Justin Bieber concert. So basically that was useless. Therefore are left to imagine the cause of death until the drama returns to NBC next month.
How do you think he dies? I think he gets into a fight with Rebecca, drinks way too much, storms off in his car and dies in a car accident.
As we know Shannen Doherty, battled breast cancer and won! Now that she is in remission, she is ready to get back to work. What better way to do it, then by her reprising one of her most famous roles in the Heathers reboot that will air on Paramount Network next year. Here she is as Heather Duke again and you would never believe that we first saw her in that role 29 years ago. It is like no time has passed for her.
Here is the inspiration message she wrote on Instagram along with the photo, “Was back on set today. It’s been a rough two years. Fighting cancer. As an actor, people bench you. They assume you’re to weak, not able etc etc. and yet it’s something like work that invigorates and renews strength to conquer the unimaginable beast. I compared myself to a car today. That vintage Shelby that’s been in the garage too long. It’s still a great car. The best. Just needs time for the engine to warm up and it’s good to go. Performing like it’s supposed to. I’m grateful for today. Grateful for everyday. Thank you @heathers for letting me play and be someone else today. Great crew, great writers, great cast, great show, great director. #paramountnetwork2018”
I do not know about you, but I am thrilled to have her on our small screens again. I missed her. And to be honest, I was not sure she was going to beat cancer. I am so happy she did and she is proving to everyone how strong she is and how to remain strong during your biggest challenges.
Before Netflix started winning a whole bunch of awards for its original programming, they used to stream some of today’s biggest movies. Then they lost their partnership with Epix and those films went away. Luckily they signed a deal with Disney and that company’s movies and TV shows started to stream. But that will be going away in 2019 because Disney is launching their own streaming service for their home videos along with one for ESPN according to The Hollywood Reporter.
If I were Netflix, I would start begging every studio to Netflix & Chill because without one I see their numbers rapidly declining. I mean, I love cheesy Horror movies and I am struggling to find ones to watch. I hate to say it, but I am OK with losing their shows and gaining ones on Hulu or Amazon Prime. I want variety and without Disney, they are not offering enough of it.
Josh Groban made his Broadway debut in The Great Comet last year and Grobanites flocked to see it. But then last month he left the show and so did his fans. His replacement did not bring in the audience, so the producers hired Mandy Patinkin to replace him. When word got out, several theater people protested the decision and the Homeland actor dropped out. That controversy came at a big cost for the Tony nominated show. One so big, its last performance will be on September 3rd. Which makes you wonder if saving one person’s job was worth it, since now a lot more are out of work because of it? I think not.
When it comes to the former star, Groban had this to say about the closing on Twitter, “Broadway is better with this brilliant diverse show on it. Plain as that. See and support while you can. All my ❤️ to my comet family.”
