It is Thanksgiving week and much of us are dreading seeing our families on Thursday. Well imagine if you just found out your dead mom is alive and that she walked out on your brother and you all those years ago and now she wants to see you. Well that is what happens on Hawaii Five-0 tonight at 10p on CBS.
Mary Ann McGarrett (Taryn Manning) is back in Hawaii to visit her brother Steve (Alex O’Loughlin) and he tells her that their mother is alive and she wants to see her. Now she has to decide if she wants to see the woman who left her when she was little girl and let her believe that she has been dead for all of these years. It is not an easy decision and she will struggle to make it.
Meanwhile the Five-0 works the case of a recently released teenage computer hacker who was kidnapped and later found dead. Now the kidnappers want his mysterious password and will do anything to get it. Kono (Grace Park) is at the boy’s house looking for the password when the kidnappers break in and hold everyone hostage. She will be caught in the crossfire and the Five-0 will be defenseless to help her. Will the good guys get out or will the bad guys win? You will have tune into find out what happens in this episode that is as much heart-stopping as it is heart-wrenching.
BTW it is so great have Manning back on the show and I hope she stays around for a while.

Nicki Minaj showed up to the AMAs last night wearing a dress that had already graced another Awards show red carpet. Julie Bowen wore the same chartreuse Monique Lhuillier at the Emmys and I think she looked better in it. Although the American Idol judge gave the Modern Family star a run for her money.
Now when it comes to Nicki, don’t you think she would’ve asked had anyone wore the dress before to any major events, before she picked at as her first dress for the night? But then again knowing that Bowen won an Emmy when she wore the gown, maybe she thought it would bring her good luck and help her win an AMA…and it did.
Helen Mirren was a guest on Late Night on Friday and Jimmy Fallon had her do Mirren, Mirren (on the wall) with him. Let me tell you she is the fairest one of them all because the way she answered all of his questions with a straight face, is what made the joke so much better! Especially the last one, which might or might not be true…judge for yourself from this picture of him.
Seriously isn’t Helen Mirren just the coolest? Not many people could/would pull off what she what she just pulled off.
Dr Phil was a guest on The Late Show on Friday and he basically gave David Letterman a therapy session on the show for free. Although I am not sure the CBS host was all that pleased with the daytime talk show host’s assessment of him. Oprah’s prodigy got Letterman to curse at him a few times (and it was deserved), admit on the air that he goes to therapy and he’s on antidepressants, but the saddest part came when Dr Phil told him his “life is pretty much over.” Granted it made sense why he said it, it still isn’t something you want to hear.
Now it might sound like this was a pretty deep interview with no laughs, shockingly there were a lot and you will want to watch the session to make you feel better when you go to yours after you see your family on Thursday.
