As David Beckham’s international football career comes to an end it appears he has already lined up a new job as a children’s soccer coach. And the Real Madrid player’s first pupil on his books is none other than Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s adopted son Maddox. The footy-mad five-year-old has already enrolled at the David Beckham Soccer Academy in Los Angeles, and now Pitt, 42, wants the ex-England captain to give Cambodian-born Maddox some one-on-one coaching. And the middleman behind this bizarre arrangement is former Wimbledon hard man Vinnie Jones. The 41-year-old footballer turned actor, who starred alongside Pitt in hit gangster movie Snatch, has become pals with Beckham thanks to his promotion work for his U.S. soccer schools and asked him to take a look at the kid. A source told The Sun: "Brad has asked if there is any chance of David giving a one-on-one tutorial. "It seems all the all the ex-pats from the UK join a local football team in Hollywood. Celebs like Robbie Williams, Jason Statham and Vinnie know each other through having a knockabout." The source added: "Maddox was being coached by an English guy over there who happened to tell Vinnie." The training request from the Fight Club star will no doubt please wife Victoria, 32, as they have been trying to establish Brand Beckham stateside for some time are keen to make friends with the Hollywood elite. The Beckhams already count Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes among their pals and are rumoured to want to move to LA after he retires from football.

Posh Spice done with music? |

Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham says she is finished with music, turning her back on the industry that brought her fame and fortune. Undoubtedly one of Britain’s biggest celebrities, Beckham said while acting wasn’t on the cards for the future, a career in fashion beckoned. "I’m done with music and I’m never going to act," Beckham told Harper’s Bazaar magazine. "Fashion is what I love. I’ve dreamed of doing my own clothing line from even before I was a Spice Girl. "Now I’m able to do what I love and I’ve found I’m really good at it." Beckham, who designs handbags and jewellery, said she’s already cut her teeth in the fashion industry, creating the perfect pair of jeans. "I went to the factories and met the ladies who do the details and the men who rip and spray the fabric and worked closely with everyone to get the perfect fit. "Elle Macpherson says they are the best jeans she’s ever worn." After selling 58 million records with the Spice Girls, the one formerly known as Posh said she was prepared to put her musical aspirations behind her. "That’s in the past. I was an okay singer and an okay dancer, and I had to work at it," she said. Beckham was the last of the Spice Girls to embark on a solo career after the band dissolved, releasing a not-unsuccessful self-titled debut in 2001. But she has since made an even bigger name for herself using just that – her name. She and husband, former English soccer captain David Beckham, known as England’s "golden couple", have a sunglasses line and his and hers perfumes. There’s also a book Beckham has co-written, a personal fashion and beauty guide, set for release this month. Beckham said constant tabloid exposure – on her husband’s alleged extramarital affairs, her weight and even her newly cropped haircut – had taken its toll on her self image and her family. "We’ve had a fair amount of crap thrown at us, and it can be very upsetting," she said. "I think we are a very strong family. We love each other to pieces. You work things out if you really love someone. "It’s easy to give up, and a lot of people do. But I look back now and see it has made me a stronger person." She said years in the spotlight had given her enough of a taste of "celebritydom". "Because of our fame, we have a lot of money and it’s enabled me to do what I want in fashion. "But do I wish I could be anonymous? Of course. "I don’t need to feed my ego that way any more.

Is this why Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, David Beckham and Posh Spice have all been hanging out? |

KATIE Holmes is set to return to the big screen as Victoria Beckham in a blockbusting film based on her husband David’s meteoric rise to fame. The 27-year-old fiancée of Tom Cruise is said to be "moved" at the prospect of playing 32-year-old Posh with whom she has become good friends. Tom, due to tie the knot with Batman Begins star Katie in a few weeks, suggested the Real Madrid star’s story to his former studio Paramount before they parted ways. The canny bigwigs are thought to have promptly "optioned" the idea before splitting with Tom last month. And although he won’t be starring as David, 31, it’s thought he’ll be producing or directing or advising on the script. Our Tinseltown tongue-wagger said: "Tom has a brilliant grasp of what the public want to see and thought David’s story was wonderful. A football star emerges from humble origins, there’s drama within the matches and romance in his love affair with Victoria at the height of her pop star fame. "At the time Tom was seeing quite a lot of David and Victoria. The quartet are very close friends and the Beckhams would only be happy about their story being used if Tom and Katie were involved. "Katie is perfect to play a young Posh and has been working on her accent. Tom wouldn’t work as David however, the physical difference is too marked. "Tom really wanted David’s character to be played by a Brit." Actors in the running include Britpack faves Jason Statham, 34, and Paul Bettany, 35.

It could be a good movie if it didn’t Tom and Katie attached.

First David Beckham got the axe from the England team, now he could get the chop from Gillette as the worldwide face of the shaving brand. The Real Madrid star’s multi-million pound contract is up for renewal next year and according to advertising bible Marketing magazine he will be replaced by ‘fresher-faced global stars’. The news will come as a massive blow to Brand Beckham, as the former England captain went on a massive PR offensive this week in a bid to promote his new book. Beckham’s role with Gillette is likely to be reduced to promoting the shaving product in ‘local markets’, such as Spain and Britain. Among the names rumoured to be replacing him is Chelsea and England star Ashley Cole, 25. The 31-year-old footballer has been the face of Gillette since 2004, when he signed a £40m three-year deal but after a disappointing World Cup, followed by being dropped from the England team it has been suggested that his days as a global superstar are numbered. However, in the meantime, he still has a £7.5 million contract with Motorola, £2 million contract Pepsi and an £80 million life time deal with Adidas to fall back on. Commenting on the story, a Gillette spokesperson said: "Gillette has a great working partnership with David and he remains the global face of Gillette as well as an international sports and style icon."

David Beckham talks about Posh’s weight and new bob! |

David Beckham today broke his silence on his wife Victoria’s controversial size 0 figure, revealing that he makes her eat. The former England captain stuck up for the ex-Spice Girl’s stick-thin look, insisting that she does consume food regularly – because of him. "I see Victoria every day of course and I make sure she eats well and she eats healthy," he told GMTV. "She looks after the way she is, you know, it is down to that person. You are beautiful whatever you are, it is about that person, about how you feel." Victoria, 32, is regularly criticised for being a bad role model to young girls because her weight has dropped to below seven stone. Beckham also told how he influenced his wife to have her trademark extensions chopped off into a bob – because that is the style she sported when they first met eight years ago. That, however, wasn’t the only reason. Becks, 31, also revealed how nice it is for him to run his fingers through her hair without finding knotty extensions. "I said to her, ‘I’d love you to change your hair, and do something like a bob,’ so when I saw the pictures I was like, ‘Oh My God, it looks incredible’. "It was my idea, she knew how strongly I felt about her going back to a bob because when I first met her she had a bob so I said it’s the best haircut for me. It’s actually nice to put my hands through her hair and not feel the extensions. "I love her whatever she looks like, whatever weight she is. She is great at the moment." Speaking frankly about his wife and their sons Brooklyn, seven, Romeo, four, and 19-month-old Cruz, Beckham, who is promoting his latest book Make It Real, also revealed how he told his children that he no longer plays for England because he wants to spend more time with them. "The boys have asked why I’m not playing and I’ve said, ‘Well, I want to spend more time with you’, and they are so happy," he said.
Daily Mail
Is it just me or does it sound like if he did not monitor her food, she wouldn’t eat at all? Also I love the whole thing about how he hated running his fingers through her extensions.
