Victoria Beckham and Katie Holmes’ fledgling friendship is already starting to crack after a series of rows over TomKat’s wedding. The NBFs (that’s New Best Friends, for you novices) have been joined at the hip recently. Victoria Beckham flew Katie over to Paris so they could spend Paris Fashion Week together last month, and Posh has become unofficial wedding adviser for Katie’s marriage to Tom Cruise in Italy next month. Posh said of her time in Paris: "I had so much fun with [Katie]. She is very tall though – I did feel like a bit of a midget." But the love-fest may have come to a dramatic halt over a couple of petty disagreements between fashionista Vic, 32, and actress Katie, 27. A close pal tells us Katie isn’t best pleased after super-skinny Victoria suggested she shed a few more pounds before her big day. Posh, who’s been plagued by rumours of eating disorders (which she strenuously denies), wants to help the Dawson’s Creek actress get in tip-top shape for her nuptials. We’re told: "Victoria didn’t mean any harm, she just wanted to help Katie look her best for her big day." "She offered to share her diet secrets but Katie immediately got defensive, saying she didn’t need any advice." "Katie is really proud of the weight she’s managed to lose since giving birth to Suri in April and she doesn’t tnk she has to lose anymore." Vic, who’s married to the King of fashionable hairstyles David Beckham, also recommended Katie bring her man to the local barber shop to get his floppy mop chopped before 18 November, when the couple will marry in a secret Italian location. The pal went on: "Vic has quite rightly pointed out that Katie will have to live with his hair in the wedding photos for the rest of her life." "She recommended Katie ask Tom to get a new, fashionable haircut like her husband David. Katie would never offend Tom but she does tend to agree with Victoria." Yet another contentious issue erupted when Katie asked Posh to be her stylist – which a horrified Victoria immediately declined. "Posh was offended at being asked to be her stylist, she loves giving Katie fashion tips but she felt accepting her offer would make her appear like a member of staff."

Katie Holmes has a fashion consultant for her Nov. 18 wedding. Holmes’s new best friend, Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham, will be advising on Holmes’ every inch of fabric, reports the Daily Mirror. “It’s fantastic news for Katie. Not only has a date been set for her big day, she’s got fashion queen Victoria helping with her wedding plans,” a source told the tab. Beckham reportedly is flying to L.A. next week for a “secret meeting” to plan the bash, and the source says, “[Holmes] wants to have a stylish low-key hen do and if Victoria’s around, she’ll be there helping her celebrate.”

Hopefully Posh can class Katie up a bit. Say what you want about Posh, but when she cleans up…she really cleans up. 

David Beckham will receive a knighthood in the 2007 New Year Honours, according to reports. The 31-year-old English footballer will become a ‘Sir’ for his services to the sport and to the community, the Daily Express reports today. Beckham was a pivotal figure in the successful London Olympics bid last year, as well as championing the plight of Kirsty Howard, an 11-year-old who suffers from a terminal heart defect. The paper quotes a Westminster insider as saying: "Beckham has become an enduring icon of this generation. New Labour’s spin doctors know this and are keen to reward him for his endeavors. Such an award would be seen as a popular move to the electorate." The former England captain, awarded with an OBE in 2003, recently faced heartbreak after being dropped from the national squad by new coach Steve McClaren.

Victoria Beckham is planning to make her fashion range available worldwide by going online. The star’s website www.dvbstyle.com is now under construction and will be used to make her collections available globally, according to the Daily Mirror. A statement on the site says it will officially launch on October 30, to coincide with the release of Victoria’s book on style, That Extra Half An Inch. A message from Victoria tells visitors: "I will make sure you are the first to know how my collections are developing, when exclusive pieces are available and all activity with my other business partners too." It also promises "webisodes" which will give visitors to the site an insight into dvb. Victoria adds that she is "really enjoying" her role as the creative director of the brand. The star is poised to make a major transition from the world of entertainment to that of fashion. She has said: "I’m doing something I’m actually very good at. "I can confidently sit in a room with Donatella Versace or anyone in the business and be respected."

The Spice Girls are to reunite – for a one-off meeting at bandmate Mel B’s mother’s house in Leeds. They once spent every day and night together on world tours, but these days the five former bandmates are more like strangers. To solve the problem, 31-year-old Mel has decided to organise a girly get-together while she’s over from Los Angeles visiting friends and family in the UK. Mel, who will marry actor fiancé Eddie Murphy in LA next month, plans to make the reunion a night to remember. The five girls – Mel B, Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham, Mel C and Geri Halliwell – will meet up in Leeds, in order to keep away from the media glare in London. A source told the Daily Star: "Mel has come home to spend some serious time with her family and friends. Naturally she wants to get the girls together. "Mel hasn’t even had time to see Geri’s baby daughter and is really looking forward to it. At the moment she is trying to confirm the right date in everyone’s diaries as they are all busy." The Spice Girls officially split in 2001 – three years after Geri Halliwell quit. All went on to launch solo careers.
