Selena Gomez has been very open about her battle with Lupus and now she revealed a complication she had to endure because of it. Over the Summer, she needed to get a kidney transplant and her friend Francia Raisa, who starred in The Secret Life of the American Teenager, gave the singer one of hers. Gomez shared a message about the life-saving operation and gratitude on Instagram.
I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health. I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you. Until then I want to publicly thank my family and incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me prior to and post-surgery. And finally, there aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis. Lupus continues to be very misunderstood but progress is being made. Hopefully the transplant will ease some of her Lupus symptoms.
She is not the only young actor to receive a kidney, Sarah Hyland got a kidney from her father back in 2012. Tracy Morgan and George Lopez also went through the same organ transplant before both actresses. As did the late Gary Coleman.
Ever since Selena Gomez was a little girl, she has had the same hairstyle. Her hair was all one length. Not anymore because she chopped it off into a chin length, layered bob. Selena Gomez was James Corden’s latest victim for Carpool Karaoke, but she made The Late Late Show host her victim. She took him to Magic Mountain to ride a roller coaster as they sang her tunes, and he spent most of the time screaming them in fear.
What better way to help your throat after that? How about a shot of ginger. Oh wait, that made things so much worse for him.
Good thing there was a McDonald’s nearby, so they could get a cup of soda with her lyrics on it to soothe the throat after that.
Once the CBS host’s throat was feeling better it was time to Shake It Up and talk about him joining Taylor Swift’s Squad. If Selena has her way, he won’t be in it.
So looks like he won’t be in the Squad, but maybe he could get Swift to Carpool Karaoke with him to work one day.

Selena Gomez’s has been on tour for a month and a half and yesterday she had a first for the Revival tour. While performing in Tulsa, she fell on her butt. Instead of running off the stage, she stood up and joked about it.
Which seems to be the thing for the singers of that age group. Something Demi Lovato is hands down the winner of. Nobody falls and jokes about it better than her.
