Alfonso Ribeiro has said that there will not be a Fresh Prince of Bel Air reunion since James Avery is no longer with us, and Will Smith also blamed Uncle Phil for why he won’t do it.
When Graham Norton asked cousin Will if we are going to see a revival of the ’90s sitcom, he said, “I’d have to be Uncle Phil in that one.” Then he explained why, “C’mon Aunt Viv, I am 50. I cannot go out on my own?”
Why not? It could work. He moves back in with his aunt and cousin, and this time he is raising a rambunctious son. Will still acts like a kid, so she has to punish her nephew and grand nephew all the time. I would watch! Plus, Carlton can have a nerdy kid just like him, who doesn’t get along with his cousin. Or better yet, Carlton has the punky kid and Will has the geek. Now, that would be a huge hit! Suck it Fuller House.
Full House has gotten revival. Boy Meets Girl got a revival. Raven has gotten a revival. But what about the other family friendly show from the ’90s, Blossom? Joey Lawrence is on Steve Harvey today and the host asked him that very question? Joey Russo revealed, “There has been serious talk about it, believe or not?” Then he added, “Mayim and I both said we would both be into it. We’ve talked to Don Reo, who created it. If there’s a way in, then I think we are all down for it.” Of course the hardest thing for them to overcome is Blossom’s Big Bang Theory schedule. Look at how long it took for the Roseanne revival to get Johnny Galecki on for an episode.
Now that we know there are talks to bring this show back, where does Lawrence see his character today? He sees him as a multi-divorced, former baseball player returning home for the first time in a long time trying to figure out what to do with the next stage of his life. It is especially tough for him since as Lawerence said, “His brain is not firing on all cylinders.
You know, they could do the show without Blossom and make it all about Six and Joey! I think that might be even better. Would you watch that?
The cast of Moesha reunited on The Real today and the hosts wanted to know if they would a reboot? Without hesitation Brandy Norwood, Sheryl Lee Ralph, William Allen Young, Countess Vaughn, Shar Jackson, Marcus T. Paulk, and Ray J all said, “Yes!”
Then Moesha brought up a really good point, the show ended on a cliffhanger. Thus, we never found out who was pregnant and if they ever got back Miles who was kidnapped. Hey Paramount Network, looks like Moesha would be a great pairing with Heathers, so make it happen. Who else wants to know what would have happened 16 years after the sitcom ended?
If you have been hoping that Fresh Prince of Bel-Air would join shows like Full House, Will & Grace and The X-Files and get a revival series, then I have some really bad news for you. Alfonso Ribeiro told ABC News, it is never going to happen. Then he elaborated, “I can never say never, but I feel really confident in the fact that we would never do it.”
Then Carlton explained why, “When James Avery passed [in 2013], it was basically the last possibility of the show coming back in any form.” He says that Will Smith feels the same way about playing the role that made him a star, but added, “I don’t know whether other people would want to do it. But, I just feel like, you know, the past is the past. We have to kind of just let it go.”
I have to wonder if he does not want to do it because he does not want to do the Carlton dance every week. I mean after all, the Tap Dance Kid did win Dancing with Stars and can do more than just dance like that.
Are you sad Homes that we won’t we will not be going to Bel-Air again?
For the last few months, there have been rumors of a Charmed reboot, but that quietly died down. Then last week, it heated up again with the gossip that the recently reacquainted Shannen Doherty and Alyssa Milano were in talks to reprise their roles.
Well yesterday, the third Halliwell sister, Holly Marie Combs, took to Instagram and cleared things up. She said, “I’m sorry to say that all the reboot rumors are just that…. rumors. But here’s #tbt to our wood nymph days. In our defense it was really hot so we wanted to wear the least amount of clothes possible. Really hot. That’s my story and still sticking to it. Still. #charmed.”
For now, it is all rumors. But if enough people want it back, I am sure it will happen. Just like Full House and Will & Grace.
