Is Howie Mandel returning to America’s Got Talent?
December 10th, 2012 under America's Got Talent, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Howie Mandel is on Howard Stern‘s radio show today and the Shock Jock asked his co-Judge if he is returning to America’s Got Talent? Well the answer isn’t as easy as a yes or no because he would love to come back for another season if they ask him to do it. That’s right the show hasn’t yet asked the best judge that show has ever seen to come back. When Howie joined the show, it changed for the better and to not have him back would make the show dull again. So NBC, get off your bums and ask him back because no offense to Stern but Mandel is more of an asset to that show than Stern is. Sharon Osbourne, Piers Morgan, Brandy and David Hasselhoff were always replaceable, but Howie isn’t. Plus haven’t we learned anything from American Idol, too many changes at the Judges Table hurts the show.
So I say bring Howie Mandel back!!!

How real is Chicago Fire?
December 3rd, 2012 under Dick Wolf, NBC, TV News. [ Comments: none ]

via The Hollywood Reporter
Chicago Fire is so real that WGN Morning News anchors Larry Potash and Robin Baumgarten thought a staged plane crash was the real thing. For nearly two minutes the two of them reported on the live video that their news chopper was feeding into the station. Only problem it was a fake crash and when they found out their expressions were priceless.
Here is my problem with the station in the #3 market, why didn’t the assignment desk call to confirm it was an actual plane crash before they went to air with. I mean the desk would’ve heard the scanners go crazy if a plane went down on a major street and hit several cars. I have been in the newsroom when a plane has gone down, and believe you know. So why didn’t they? And why didn’t the producer wait until he had confirmation before he went live with the story? Someone definitely got ripped a new one after that big booboo.
BTW I hope the set designers who put that crash together gets an Emmy and a raise because obviously what they did was really believable!

Howard Stern still Got Talent!
December 3rd, 2012 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Howard Stern announced today that he is returning to American’s Got Talent as a judge this summer. No word who will sitting besides him, but I hope that Howie Mandel is back because I love the bickering between the shock jock and the germaphobe. As to who the third judge will be, I am sure Simon Cowell wants his rumored girlfriend Carmen Electra to fill the spot. Who do you think would be a good person to complete the panel?

The hills are asleep with Carrie Underwood singing the sound of music
November 30th, 2012 under Carrie Underwood, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Carrie Underwood is going to play Maria Von Trapp in a live version of The Sound of Music next Christmas on NBC that is produced by the people who are bringing us Smash and this year’s Oscars.
The network released a statement to TVLine saying:
“We’re thrilled to be presenting the Broadway version of The Sound of Music live. And having Carrie Underwood as the star brings it to a new generation who will fall in love with it for the first time, as many millions of people already have. It’s a particular joy to us as producers to see this amazing artist stretch into new territory with this classic musical.”
As much as I love Carrie Underwood the singer, I think she is a boring actress and won’t be able to do justice for the iconic role. Do you think she has the chops to do it?

Matthew Perry does an Angus T Jones!
November 29th, 2012 under Matthew Perry, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Matthew Perry was so inspired by Angus T Jones telling the world not to watch his show Two and a Half Men; that the Friends star has decided that everyone needs to stop watching his show NBC’s Go On that airs Tuesday at 9p and he took to Funny or Die to get the message out there. This isn’t the first time Perry has done this, back when he was Jewish he told people to stop watching Studio 60 on the Sunset Trip. As we all know that campaign was very successful, although not as successful as the one he did for Mr Sunshine. Remember that show and what religion he was back then? Even he didn’t remember either.
Not only does the Whole Nine Yards actor not want you to watch Go On that airs Tuesdays at 9p on NBC, he is also giving back the money he has earned from his shows. Well all the ones that aren’t named Friends. After all he is not an idiot and can survive on that money for the rest of his life and his kids’ lives (if he ever has them) and few more generations after that.
Although unlike Jones, he apologized before the video was done and he wants you to watch Go On every Tuesday at 9p on NBC! And so do I because it gets better every week and he is just so cute and funny on it. I think he is the most likable and most talented Friend, don’t you agree?
