Alec Baldwin wants off of 30 Rock, NBC says no
April 25th, 2007 under Alec Baldwin, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

According to Showbuzz Alec Baldwin asked NBC if he could be released from 30 Rock, so he can deal with his very publicized family issues. In a pre-taped interview with The View that will air on Friday he said, "If I never acted again I couldn't care less." He also added that he didn't want the people who work on the show to be hurt by what he said. NBC did not feel the same way and issued this statement, "Alec Baldwin remains an important part of '30 Rock.' We look forward to having him continue his role in the show." I think NBC made him stay on the show because without him the show would do worse than it already does. Plus he is the one that is winning them awards and they don't want to lose that. Plus by the time the show comes back next season, do you think we are still going to care about the call, sadly?

The Upfront dates are announced
April 24th, 2007 under ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, The CW. [ Comments: none ]

Seat 42F has released on what days (known as the Upfronts) we will find what shows will be back next season, which ones won't and which one will be new. I hate this week because I always lose at least one of my favorite shows and I am never prepared for the truth.

So here are the dates for the dreaded week:

Monday, May 14 NBC 3 p.m. Radio City Music Hall

Tuesday, May 15 ABC 4 p.m. Lincoln Center

Wednesday, May 16 CBS 2 p.m. Carnegie Hall

Thursday, May 17 CW 10:30 a.m. Madison Square Garden

Thursday, May 17 Fox 4 p.m. New York City Center

(those are the shows I want back most from each of the nets, although some nets had multiple choices like on CBS HIMYM and Ghost Whisperer, NBC Friday Night Lights and Studio 60, CW One Tree Hill and on ABC October Road)

ER is losing their love doctors
April 13th, 2007 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

TV Guide confirmed that both Goran Visnij and Maura Tierney are leaving ER next season. Goran mentioned yesterday on Jimmy Kimmel that he was only going to do a few episodes next season, but they are still working out the details. Maura will probably stay the whole season, but hasn't fully made the decision to leave. Both of them who have been on the show for a long time, and say they are leaving the little screen for the big one. Both have done feature films, but have problems doing a lot more of them because ER’s grueling schedule. I wish them both luck because I really like them!

So yesterday Goran was on Kimmel and he told this story, and I thought was the only who had the same experience. He said when he was kid he saw Mel Brook's History of the World: Part One and at the end of the movie when they showed what was coming up in the sequel like Jews In Space he was all excited for it. I too could not wait to see Jews in Space and then one day it hit me, oh there is no sequel that was a joke. Sadly when I found that out in the privacy in my home unlike him who found it out at a Blockbuster here in The States. Just out of curiousity were they only ones waiting for History of the Word: Part Two?

Is NBC betting on Tom Selleck?
April 11th, 2007 under NBC, Tom Selleck. [ Comments: none ]

The Hollywood Reporter says that NBC is in talks with Tom Selleck to replace James Caan on Las Vegas. If he accepts the job he would play the smart, powerful, fun-loving new owner of Montecito Resort & Casino. I think they left out the word sexy to describe him. There is just something about him, that I find so attractive. I never got his sexual appeal when he was doing Magnum PI, but when he was on Boston Legal…woah Nelly!  I hope he joins Las Vegas because it would be nice to see him back on weekly television…not that I will be watching.

Friday Night Lights gets an order for 6 more scripts
April 10th, 2007 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

According to Reuters, NBC ordered 6 additional scripts of Friday Night Lights the day before it's season finale. OK, so now I understand what a 6 script order is…sort of. Looks like if the network is unsure whether or not to renew you, they ask for the scripts to see if you are worth keeping. Hopefully NBC will be happy with what they read from Friday Night Lights and Medium! NBC has renewed enough crappy shows, it is about time they actually pick up the shows I watch! Since it is all about me! But in all seriousness, way to go Friday Nights Light! Talking about being down to wire, they are third and 10 on the 14 yard line with 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter and so close to the touchdown, but will they be able to score??? Just in case the QB is sacked or they have a turnover, you can check out the Fight for Lights site to cheer them on and maybe help them score the goal!
BTW did I master the football terminology it has been a while since my team has been good?
