Friday Night Lights back for a second season
May 10th, 2007 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Michael Ausiello is gleefully reporting that NBC has picked up Friday Night Lights for a second season. Part of me is happy that NBC picked it up because I like the show, but the other part of me would like to see Kyle Chandler do something else. When he guest starred on Grey's Anatomy this season, I remembered what a great comedic actor he can be. FNL just doesn't show him at his best, hopefully they will play more with that side of Kyle Chandler next season. Either way I am happy to the show and him back for a second season! Go Dillon Panthers!

NBC pulls The Wedding Crashers
May 7th, 2007 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

NBC has yet another show that has failed in that Monday 10p slot. First there was Studio 60 then The Black Donnelys and now The Wedding Crashers. I don' know why NBC ever thought that The Wedding Crashers was going to do well in that timeslot to begin with, that show was the worst fit with Heroes out of them all.
So what will NBC do for the rest of May sweeps to fill the void? They will be airing new episodes of Law and Order: Criminal Intent and repeat them the next night in their regular timeslot according to The Futon Critic. I wonder if NBC is testing the waters to see how that show will do in that timeslot. Which is interesting considering the first time it airs in that timeslot is the same day NBC announces the new fall schedule.

Medium coming back for a fourth season!!!
May 7th, 2007 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

NBC announced today that it will be bringing back Medium for another season according to TV Week. Kevin Reilly said, "'Medium' is a quality show with an outstanding star that has always delivered a very loyal audience. We are pleased to know that we can look forward to more of its unique storytelling next year under executive producer Glenn Gordon Caron's superb creative vision."
Out of all the shows on NBC this is the only bubble show I wanted them to pick up! I just love this show and I am happy NBC is bringing it back. Now let's hope they do a little more to promote the show next year and just don't hold it for when they feel like it.

Looks like Studio 60 is not coming back next season
May 7th, 2007 under Friends (cast), NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Although Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip is slated to come back on May 24th, it is not looking good that it will come back next season. According to the Post-Gazette (via The Evil Beet) after the show wrapped for the season, the sets were taken down. And things we learned for Everwood once the sets go away, so does the show. I think NBC made a mistake by keeping it on Mondays at 10p, it just wasn't a good fit with Heroes. Oh well one less thing for my DVR to record next season.
Oh and the Friends curse continues. Less than two seasons for Matt Le Blanc in Joey , one for Lisa Kudrow in The Comeback, one for Matthew Perry in Studio 60 and still no word on Courtney Cox's Dirt.

Studio 60 back after sweeps
April 27th, 2007 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Well the good news is that NBC has a return date for Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, the bad news it is after sweeps which means it probably will not have a second season. NBC secretly put on the Studio 60 page that show will be taking over ER's slot (Thursdays at 10p) on May 24th. I have to admit I was not that much of a fan when I first saw it, but I got hooked really fast. I still think NBC made a mistake by keeping it on Mondays at 10p, it was just not the best fit with Heroes.
