Did Mandy Moore really give this clue?
October 11th, 2017 under Jimmy Fallon, Mandy Moore, Michael Strahan, Shaquille O'Neal. [ Comments: none ]

When you think of Mandy Moore, you think of the sweet actress we watch ever week on This Is Us. Turns out, she is not that innocent.

Yesterday, on The Tonight Show she played Password against Jimmy Fallon and Shaquille O’Neal. When it came time for the second clue, Shaq gave the NBC host the clue, “hump,” and he did not get it. Then Moore said to Noah Cyrus, “toe.” and she got it immediately. Did you get it?

Who would have thought she would go there, but she did and it was freaking brilliant. As brilliant as her performances each week as Rebecca Pearson. I do not care what anyone says, she is the best one on the show and they are all really excellent.

Talking about being great on show, they need to book on her Michael Strahan’s Pyramid because she is really good at these type of game shows.

ABC is mad at Michael Strahan for not ending his vacation early
September 2nd, 2017 under Michael Strahan, TV News. [ Comments: none ]

When you work in network TV news and something huge breaks, you are expected to come in to work no matter what day or time it is. Vacations do not have much pull when a hurricane hits your hometown. At least, it is not supposed to mean anything. Your instinct should be to call in and ask where do you need me.

Well, a vacationing Michael Strahan called in to his bosses at Good Morning America, but did not offer to come back to work early in order to cover Hurricane Harvey. A source told Page Six, “ABC News asked Strahan to come home from his vacation. He’s from Houston. But he refused and is still floating around on a yacht in Greece somewhere. ABC is really upset with him.” Although his rep and someone at GMA denied that they asked to come back in.

That is the difference between a face and a newsperson. A newsperson comes back in and says screw the vacation. A face continues on with his trip. Since ABC News is run by a real newsman, I think I know who is telling the truth.

Strahan’s vacation is over this weekend and will reportedly be going live from Houston starting this week.

Chris Pine actually uses a flip phone
May 23rd, 2017 under Chris Pine, Michael Strahan. [ Comments: none ]

Did you think that flip phones went away with the smartphones? They didn’t and Chris Pine admitted today on Good Morning America that he just recently started using one.

Why? He told Michael Strahan and Lara Spencer, “I recently got a record player and a flip phone, and I kind of like the simplifying down. I just like the simple, I just like the non-complicated, I just don’t want to be connected so much. I just like the decrease in anxiety.”

What doesn’t he like about it? Texting because T9 causes him anxiety. But, that does make him unflip the phone and talk to people more.

With his newly acquired mobile phone and record player, it is just like he is living in father’s years on CHiPs. They had cell phones in the ’70s, right?

Did you think that Kelly Ripa has looked miserable for the last year and thought it was because of Michael Strahan? Turns out he wasn’t the cause, well not the only one, at least. She revealed to Megyn Kelly yesterday on Live with Kelly that about a year ago she had a bad reaction to Botox. Because of she was left without the ability to smile. She is finally able to do that again and if she wants to make us smile, then she will give Jerry O’Connell the job already.

Kelly Ripa explains why she took off from Live with Kelly and Michael
May 11th, 2016 under Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, Michael Strahan. [ Comments: none ]

A few weeks ago, Michael Strahan announced that he was leaving Live with Kelly and Michael and his co-host took a few days off. The media went crazy with their theories why she did it, and now she broke her silence about it to People. She said, “I think what people need to understand about the entire situation is that I didn’t just not show up.” Then she added, “I said, in the room, ‘I am going to take the day off.’ I needed to actually sit and gather information. I needed to make sure I said the appropriate things on TV and didn’t just come out and say whatever.” Six days later, she was ready to return to work, and she spoke her mind then.
How does she feel about Strahan’s new job? She said, “I get it. We’re excited for Michael. He wanted that job, and it’s great for him. I think it is a perfect match, I really do.” But there is a but, “However, what nobody considered is there’s a whole other group of people that it really impacts, because we have to now find another great person.” You see Live is a family, and she says her co-workers were looking at her to make sure that they were going all be OK and still have a job.
When Kathie Lee Gifford left the show, it took them a while to find Kelly Ripa. Then when Regis Philbin left, it also took them a while to find Michael Strahan. Will their viewers wait for them to find another co-host and will they take them quickly? To make matters worse, there are rumors that ABC wants to add a third hour for Good Morning America, so what does that mean for the future for Live with Kelly and Who? Plus, there is more competition these days and what if the viewers find something else to watch during the transition period? There’s a lot riding on the show because of his decision, so you can understand why she reacted the way that she did. I didn’t until this interview and now I get it.
This wasn’t the only point that I liked that she brought up in this interview, she also took on her big bosses. She said, “I think that all people are deserving of fair treatment in the work place. People deserve respect People should be treated equally and with dignity.” Then she elaborated, “I think that requires a certain amount of empathy on a level. When you’re dealing with big business, it’s easy to forget that you’re dealing with people and that people have feelings. It’s easy to just look at it like a business unit, a unit, a unit.” Corporations quickly forget its employees who keep them functioning and they need to remember that. She took a big stand against the cold corporate world, and for that I will always respect her. Hopefully, other businesses heard her stance because too many forget that they need to treat their employees better. They make the company work, not the people who sit in boardrooms all day.
