Sometimes a late night bit doesn’t need any words to be hysterically brilliant, and this skit from The Late Late Show with James Corden is just that. It is Morris Chestnut roasting by an open fire. Forget the Yule Log, I am putting this Christmas Carols and watching this on a loop this Sunday morning!
Last year James Corden surprised us with a star studded Christmas Carpool Karaoke on The Late Late Show, and this year he followed it up with a bigger one. He asked Mariah Carey to sit in the drivers seat as they sang her huge Christmas hit, All I Want for Christmas. But what we didn’t know, he has been working on this since January. He had past passengers like Adele, Gwen Stefani, Elton John, Lady Gaga and shockingly Red Hot Chili Peppers sing the Billboard Holiday Chart Topper with him and created this epic version of the addictive tune. Now we have a new Christmas Classic for the years to come.
Neil Diamond has released several Christmas Carols throughout his career but I don’t think he’s ever turned any of his songs into a Christmas one. Well yesterday that all changed on The Late Late Show when James Corden asked him to rework his tune Sweet Caroline into a Sweet Christmanstime and now we all have a song we go Caroling to. Well maybe only at work the day after the Holiday party and change up the names, but still…
For an added bonus, here he is singing a Christmas Melody!
Let’s be honest, we have all boogied in our cars to Bruno Mars’ songs, but how does he look jamming to his own tunes? That is what James Corden found out yesterday when he asked him to drive him to work for Carpool Karaoke. How does it look? Like you want to throw a grenade at The Late Late Show host in order to sit in that driver’s seat. You thought you went wild when you rocked out to Uptown Funk, you ain’t got nothing on him.
I have to weigh in on this Carpool Karaoke and it is worth its weight in gold. XXIV Karat to be exact!
When I saw Madonna sticking her butt into the GoPro cameras during the promo for Carpool Karaoke on The Late Late Show, I thought it was going to suck. Well I made an a$$ of myself because it might be one of James Corden’s best ones yet.
The singer, who knows how to make a name for herself, was actually subdued, likeable and vulnerable. I mean she was still crazy, she’s Madonna after all. But there was a side of her where you got to see that the World she created for herself might be very lonely.
It was also interesting to hear that she wanted to be a nun and lives a Julie Andrews like lifestyle when she home with her kids. Not what you expected from the woman who admitted she got Michael Jackson drunk and kissed him. And so many many many many many many many many other men, did I say many?
Seriously though, don’t you just have a new appreciation for her after this?
Oh and she was so right about the CBS late night host’s plaid red shirt. So ugly.
