BTWF talk shows: David Letterman on The Tonight Show

Before David Letterman lost The Tonight Show to Jay Leno, he made his debut on the late night talk show. It is easy to see why Johnny Carson wanted him to replace him because he was hilarious even when he was just 31 in that 1978 episode.

Billy Crystal challenges David Letterman to Battle of the Network Stars
July 18th, 2017 under Billy Crystal, David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel. [ Comments: none ]

Back in 1978, David Letterman was on CBS’s Mary, Mary Tyler Moore’s variety show, and Billy Crystal was on ABC’s Soap. They were on two different networks and because of that that made them eligible to compete against each other on Battle of the Network Stars. The two men battled it out in obstacle course challenge and Crystal won the race as you can see in the clip that was shown on Jimmy Kimmel Live yesterday.

Now that Battle of the Network Stars is back on ABC, Crystal challenged his old friend to a rematch. Considering a lot of people who were on the original series are on the new one now, it is totally possible. Although they could be in the same team as Oscar hosts since they also both did that. How awesome would it be to see the two of them take it to the course again? I am Team Billy, what about you?

Maybe celebrities shouldn’t do weather?
May 25th, 2017 under David Letterman, Ellen DeGeneres, Kevin Bacon, Tom Hanks, TV News. [ Comments: none ]

As we know, celebrities go on local morning news shows and sometime they do the weather while they are there. News Be Funny compiled several of them weathering the storm and the forecast wasn’t always sunny for Kevin Hart, Tom Hanks, Steve Carrell, David Letterman and Ellen DeGeneres to name of few of them. That is because they were causing a downfall of laughter with the viewers. While they might not be good with the green screen, they are great at making us feel good no matter how crappy the weather is outside.

Maury Povich is no fan of David Letterman
April 20th, 2017 under David Letterman, Maury Povich, Steve Harvey, Talk Shows. [ Comments: 8 ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RODimgwdtzM
Maury Povich was on The Steve Harvey Show and the host wanted to know if it is true that his guest does not get along with David Letter. Not only is it the truth, he explained why.

Back in the ’80s and ’90s, Povich says that the The Late Show host had a thing for his wife, Connie Chung, and would never get his first name right when she was on the show. In fact, one time when Letterman was out on a story with Chung, he saw Maury’s photo on a moving bus and was like I take this guy’s wife out and her husband rolls on by.

Not only that, whenever Povich would accompany his wife to the show and wait in the green room, the late night host would never come visit him.

How does the whose your daddy host feel about his enemy now? He is glad that he still on TV while Letterman is not and doesn’t look like his arch nemesis. Who knew he had so vicious side? I guess he learned a thing or two from his guests.

I don’t know about you, but I want to see these two guys duke it out, Daytime Talk Show style! I wonder who would win? Povich of course!

Are David Letterman and Michael Stipe the same person?
March 9th, 2017 under David Letterman, Michael Stipe, Not The Same Person. [ Comments: none ]

In the last few years, David Letterman and Michael Stipe have lost some hair on the top of their heads and grew on their faces. In fact, the former late show host and the REM singer grew out big bushy beards like Santa Claus.

Due the whitening of hair and where it has relocated, both men have become look alikes. So much so, it is hard to tell them apart. Even Stipe said, “So f*cked up.” And here I was thinking what’s the frequency, Kenneth?

BTW is it just me or do they both look like garden gnomes?
