Before Alfonso Ribeiro was doing fake ’80s commercials, he did a real one with Michael Jackson for Pepsi. He looks the same now as he did when he was 12 in that 1984 commercial.
Alfonso Ribeiro is as known for his acting as a dance he created during his career. Not the one he did in The Tap Dance Kid, his Michael Jackson moves from a Pepsi commercial or anything from his winning season of Dancing with the Stars, but, of course, it is The Carlton from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
It is so popular that when people see him, they sway back and forth with their opposite arms going up and down as he did. However, he doesn’t do it back. That is because he told People magazine he hasn’t done it since he won DWTS in 2014. In fact, he says, he “put it away.”
There has to be a way we can get him to do it again. Any suggestions, let’s hear them? We need to see him do The Carlton again.
Alfonso Ribeiro started out his career as The Tap Dance Kid. Then he danced with Michael Jackson in a Pepsi commercial. Even though he did a lot of memorable things on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, he is most known for the Carton. Finally, the actor won Dancing with the Stars.
You can say that dancing is a big part of his life. Therefore, it makes sense that dancing is just part of every aspect of his life, including laundry. Here he is dancing with his new LG Wash Tower. Who knew washing your clothes could be sexy, but he makes it that way. He can do my laundry anytime! Actually, anyone can. Who wants to do it for me?
For almost a year, there have been rumors that the cast of Friends was going to shoot an unscripted reunion special for HBO Max. It has been delayed due to greed and COVID-19, and they have yet to set a date
Last week, the streaming service announced that the cast of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air would reunite for their own unscripted special, and over the last two days, they have been filming it. Take that Friends.
Yesterday, it was just Will Smith interviewing the original Aunt Viv. Today, on the sitcom’s 30th anniversary, Smith told Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid, Alfonso Ribeiro, and DJ Jazzy Jeff that he spoke with Janet Hubert for the first time in 27 years. Then they got down to business and caught us up with everything they have been up to since their show went off the air in 1996.
The reunion, that will air begin streaming around Thanksgiving, will also feature special surprise guests, music, dancing, and laughs.
How excited are you to see them together again? Want to see Smith with Hubert, then click here!
Let’s be honest, when we heard that Tom Bergeron was wrongly fired from Dancing with the Stars recently, we all wondered if they offered the job to Alfonso Ribeiro before Tyra Banks. We are not the only ones who want to know.
Us Weekly asked him all about it. He told the magazine, “If the circumstances were very different, that might’ve been something that I might’ve been interested in doing. Then he elaborated, “I certainly would not have been interested in Tom being fired and me being hired to do it. I mean, I already took over for him on AFV. I can’t do all of his gigs. And at the end of the day, the AFV was not a firing. It was him leaving, and that’s what made it possible for me to go. I never want to take someone’s job like that. Yes. That has nothing to do with whoever you’re hiring, of course, but because I’m so close to him, it just wouldn’t have felt right to do if they approached me.”
I am glad he was not approached and accepted the job. As much as I like my Junior High School alum, I would have been upset with him if he did. As would the fans of the show, and he is a fan favortie.
Is he still a fan of the show, and does he plan to watch? It will be hard to watch it without the backbones of the show, Bergeron and Erin Andrews, but he will still tune in for his other friends like the judges and professional dancers.
Does he have any advice for Banks? He says she needs to be the traffic cop guiding the show in the proper direction, and not make it about herself. At the end of the day, it is not about her. Who thinks she will be able to do that? Everything she does is always about her; why would this be any different. That is why a majority of the people think she is the wrong person for the job.
Is it too late for them to give the job back to Bergeron?
