A lot of people have been weighing in about kids going back to school during coronavirus pandemic, and Dave Grohl decided to give his two cents.
The Foo Fighters singer revealed in a nearly 9-minute video that he dropped out of high school in 11th grade to become a musician. Therefore, he does not think that kids should go back to school just yet. But not for the reasons you think.
His mother was a teacher, and he knows how important the job is. They are essential workers just like first responders, grocery workers, and medical staff, and we need to protect them. No one is saying how to do that if the kids go back to school. Until then, we need to consider them and all of the people who work in schools.
No one is debating that kids need to go back to school, we are debating what is the safest way for everyone to do it. Grohl said it much better than I ever could.
Not only did he eloquently explain why we need to delay the opening of schools, but he also brilliantly and lovingly talked about his mom. He might be one of the baddest rockers out there, but at the end of the day he will always a mama’s boy! Just another reason to love him. As if we needed one.
Even though almost all of the television production has been shut down since March, animation hasn’t stopped working. That is good news for the fans of Fox’s Animation Domination. On September 27th, The Simpsons, Bless the Harts, Bob’s Burgers, and Family Guy will all be back with new episodes.
Any other year, this would be who cares news. However, this year I am doing backflips in excitement. Unlike in the cartoons, it really hurts when you bang into the wall. Ouch. At least, I will be able to laugh again in September when the four shows are back. Hopefully, by then, I will be healed from those backflips I just did.
Can’t wait until September for new episodes, all four sitcoms and Duncanville will all be doing panels at San Diego’s Comic-Con@Home this weekend. Don’t do a backflip.
On July 4th, Kanye West announced he was running for president of the United States. Then this Sunday, he held his first campaign rally in South Carolina. While he was talking to the people who attended, he revealed that he and Kim Kardashian were thinking about aborting North.
There were several reports that Kim was upset he shared that personal story with strangers and the world. Some of those reports even said that that his confession was putting a strain on their marriage.
Then for the last two nights, Kanye has been tweeting that Kim and her mother, Kris Jenner, want to lock him up on a 5150, and that he has wanted to divorce her she met Meek Mill in a hotel.
Today, Us Weekly is reporting that she met with divorce lawyers. However, she wants to make it work with the man she has been married to for over six years. It sounds like she is hoping for the latter after what she posted about her husband today.
As many of you know, Kanye has bi-polar disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand. I’ve never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye’s right to privacy when it comes to his health. But today, I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health.
Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor. People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgmental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try.
I understand Kanye is subject to criticism because he is a public figure and his actions at time can cause strong opinions and emotions. He is a brilliant but complicated person who on top of being an artist and a black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother, and has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bi-polar disorder. Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words sometimes do not align with his intentions.
Living with bi-polar disorder does not diminish or invalidate his dreams and his creative ideas, no matter how big or unobtainable they may feel to some. That is part of his genius and as we have all witnessed, many of his dreams have come true.
We as a society talk about giving grace to the issue of mental health as a whole, however we should also give it to the individuals who are living with it in times when they need it the most. I kindly ask that the media and public give us the compassion and empathy that is needed so that we can get through this. Thank you for those who have expressed concern for Kanye’s well-being and for your understanding.
With Love and Gratitude.
It sounds like she in this for the long haul. We will find out if he is too.
This statement makes me see her in a different light. It seems like she can live a private life in the midst of her very public one. Who knew?
Anna Camp let her guard down just one time by not wearing a mask in public, and she says she is still paying the price for that mistake. The Perfect Harmony actress revealed that she tested positive for coronavirus, and she is still feeling the effects from the virus even though she is negative.
Hi friends… I felt it was my responsibility to share that I ended up getting Covid-19. I have since tested negative, but I was extremely sick for over three weeks and still have lingering symptoms. I was incredibly safe. I wore a mask. I used hand sanitizer. One time, when the world was starting to open up, I decided to forgo wearing my mask in public. One. Time. And I ended up getting it. I believe it may have been because of that one time. People are saying it’s like having the flu, but I’ve had the flu, and this is absolutely not that. The panic of contracting a virus that is basically untreatable and is so new that no one knows the long term irreparable damage it does to your immune system is unbelievably stressful. Completely losing my sense of smell and taste without knowing when or even if they will return is extremely disorienting. I’m only smelling about 30 percent of how I used to now. Other persistent symptoms are (a month later) dizziness, extreme fatigue, impacted sinuses, upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, and fever. I’m lucky. Because I didn’t die. But people are. Please wear ur mask. It can happen any time. And it can happen to anyone. Even that one time you feel safe. We can all make a difference. Wearing a mask is saving lives. Thank you to everyone who reached out to check on me during this scary time. Please be safe out there. Let’s all do our part and wear a mask. I don’t want any of you to go through what I did. Even though it’s a little thing, it can have a huge impact, and it’s so incredibly easy to do❤️
Anyone I know who has had COVID-19 has said to me, “You don’t want this.” Therefore, you should put on a mask, wash her hands, social distance, and avoid going out as much as possible. It is a small sacrifice, but you want to go through all she went through for over three weeks and counting. The flu takes us out of commission for two weeks. I have known people who are still feeling like 💩, even though they were diagnosed with it over two months ago.
Coronavirus doesn’t care how old you are, who you vote for, where you live, which Gd you believe in, all it cares about is getting you sick.
So make sure you are pitch perfect when it comes to wearing a mask. You don’t want to regret your decision for not wearing one, do you?
Back in 2003, Natalie Maines bashed then-President George W. Bush on several occasions over the Gulf War, and Country music fans called for a boycott of The Dixie Chicks’ music.
Seventeen years later, we have a president that makes us think differently about how bad he was. Do The Chicks feel the same way about 43 due to everything we have been through with 45? Maines told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live yesterday, “I joke that today, I might, actually, make out with George Bush.” I wonder if he would accept her offer?
I’ll tell you, I think it would be a great campaign move for both parties if he accepted her offer. They could do an ad and say, “Look at what Donald Trump made us do.” Or better yet, they can kiss at one of the Country music events. I am sure there are a lot of fans who feel the same way as The Chicks about the current state of our government.
We would just need both of them to self-quarantine and test negative for COVID-19 before they make out. Why am I picturing them locking tongues? You are doing it too, right? Which song do you imagine them swapping spit over because there has to be music as they do the deed?
