2020 is off to a good start because we will not be spending New Year’s Eve with Jenny McCarthy. She announced on Live with Kelly and Ryan that she is taking the year off because her son wants to spend the holiday with her at home. Since he is 17, she knows she has to make the most of it before he leaves her.
Whatever the reason, who cares. One less show with her on it is a good start. Now if only Fox would do the same with Masked Singer. We would all be better off.
No word who will replace her, but I am assuming one of the many women who has been on Dancing with the Stars will get the job. Hopefully, Leah Remini because I would not mind watching the ball drop with her. Maybe someday Seacrest’s balls will do the same. Sorry, it was too easy not to pass that joke up.
Don Johnson was on This Morning this morning and Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield started talking to him about Miami Vice. Then they wanted to know if he would ever do it again.
When he responded, his voice got higher and he said, “We are kicking around some thoughts. Yeah.” Then he added, “Amazingly enough, it has come back around. And it seems like they have run out of ideas for good shows. So they’re going to the well.”
Would he put on the pastel suits again? He got all coy and said “maybe”, but we can all tell it is a yes. Is it a done deal? He says, “There is a lot of water left to row.” If I remember correctly, they always rode in motorboats which meant they did not do a lot of rowing. Thus, what is this rowing he is talking about?
He is not really sure where Sonny Crockett would be, but he says he is an experienced man.
The one question they did not ask him is if Philip Michael Thomas would be back as Ricardo Tubbs. You can’t have Miami Vice without him. Can you?
Would you watch Miami Vice if they brought it back?
Before Jennifer Aniston was Friends with five other people in NYC, Lorne Michaels wanted her to be friends with people from Saturday Night Live. Even though she was a struggling actress, who was in many cancelled shows, she thought she was too good to work on show with her friends Adam Sandler and David Spade.
She told Howard Stern on his radio show yesterday that she was thrown when Michaels asked to meet with her. She sees herself as a serious actress and not a comedian.
Not only that, she did not think it was the right enviorment for her. She felt that it was a boys club and told Michaels that the women needed to be treated better there.
Needless to say after that, she did not get the job and went on to do Friends. And since then she has played Rachel Green in every role that she has played.
BTW was I the only getting a major bitch vibe from her. Like I am this great actress and SNL is beneath me? It wasn’t beneath Robert Downey Jr, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Billy Crystal and many many others.
I get that careerwise it worked out for her, but SNL was still hot back in the early ’90s. She should be a little more respectful because look at how many people got their start on the show and are still doing well.
If you watch New Amsterdam and you see a scene in the lobby of the hospital, then you will see a lot of people walking around. All of those people are paid background actors. How many are getting around $200 a day? According to Tyler Labine, there were 200 of them there on Sunday. Meaning that scene cost $40,000 in extas alone.
Now that we got that money aspect out of the way, let’s talk about how cool it is to see 200 actors at work. 200 people who are told to sit and wait and wait and wait and wait until they are needed. Then when they are ready, it is rush rush rush. Being an extra is fun.
If you have never seen New Amsterdam, then watch it tonight at 10p on NBC. It was my favorite new show last season and it is still just as good. If not better. It is a medical drama that is more about heart than the illness. Therefore, we are not going to think we have some rare disease after watching it.
James Van Der Beek and his wife Kimberly revealed on Dancing with the Stars yesterday that she is pregnant with baby #6. They even showed us her getting the ultrasound where they heard the heartbeat to prove it. This was very important for them to do so and he explained why on social media.
Thrilled beyond belief to announce that another little bundle of joy has picked us to be their family. We chose to have our first ultrasound on camera with our #DWTS crew capturing the result – something I NEVER thought we’d ever do… but @vanderkimberly and I have been through three of those first appointments to discover either no heartbeat, or no baby, and she wanted to share this moment. Miscarriage (a word that needs a replacement – nobody failed to “carry”, these things sometimes just happen) is something that people rarely talk about, and often go through in secret. But there needs to be zero shame around it, or around giving yourself the time and space to grieve. We decided to put ourselves out there – not knowing what we’d find – in an effort to chip away at any senseless stigma around this experience and to encourage people who might be going through it to open themselves up to love & support from friends and family when they need it most. Happily, for us – this time- we walked out with tears of joy. #AndThenIDancedAQuickStep.
Baby #6 joins Olivia, 9, Joshua, 7, Annabel, 5, Emilia, 3, and Gwendolyn, 15 months. Good thing Van Der Beek is building up his stamina on DWTS because he is going to need it with six kids under 10. Little does he realize Olivia is about to hit puberty and that is when parenting gets to be a whole lot more fun. Not!
You know if the Van Der Beeks and Alec and Hilaria Baldwin got divorced and James married Hilaria, they would have a house full of 11 kids under 10. That and a reality TV show. However, that is not going to happen because you cannot make that many kids together in such a short time and not love each other until death do you part.
