Last week there were rumors that Michael Bublé was retiring from music after his son’s cancer battle, and Access Hollywood asked him if that rumor is true. The singer just laughed. He said after that article came out, his friends texted him about it. He wrote them back, “Consider the source.”
Translation, he is not retiring just yet and Love will not his last album. Talking about love, he said that Noah, 5, is doing so much better. Then Bublé told the reporter that he enjoys doing press for the album. Why? Because he gets to sleep in. Something he cannot do at home with three young kids including 2-month-old Vida.
Even international rock stars cannot get their sleep when they become parents.
Charo’s sister made a Brazilian dress for her and the entertainer could not wait to show it off on social media. In fact, she left it on the dummy as she told us she is going to wear the dress for her new show about Rio de Janeiro and Samba. Then she gave us a demonstration of some of the moves we can see during it.
Since it is just a rehearsal, she was only wearing a long sleeved teddy that shows off her whole figure. Can you believe she is 67 because that is not the body of a senior citizen? More like a senior in college. Seriously, doesn’t she have legs to die for? I need to take up Samba lessons because I want gams like that.
Janes Curtain was on Watch What Happens Live yesterday and Andy Cohen wanted to talk to her about her time on Saturday Night Live.
One of the things he wanted to know is what was her relationship like with Lorne Michaels, the show’s creator. She told the Bravo host, around the third season, she asked him to get some help for John Belushi because he was going to die without it (as we know she was right). She says he told her, “What can I do?” And she figured what is the point of talking to him after that, so she stopped talking to him. If he wanted her to do something, he would go through Gilda Radner and vice versa.
Did she talk to him at the 40th Anniversary special? Curtain thanked him for getting the old gang together. It was a great night for all of the Not Ready for Prime Time Players. She then explained how that night came about. The gang got together for Tom Davis’ memorial service and Bill Murray told Michaels that they were not getting any younger and it was about time that he did something for them. The rest, as we know, was a great night of television.
When she was asked who was the worst guest host during her time on the show, she said, “Gosh, there were so many.” Then she settled with Walter Matthau. The actress said he came to play and did not take the job seriously. Something she thought was disrespectful. Who were the others? We are only left to guess.
"You are the salt of the earth – honest, hardworking and as tough as they come.
And that resilience, sense of humour and commitment to the land are the qualities that make you unique. You are the backbone of this country." — The Duke of Sussex, in Dubbo #RoyalVisitAustraliapic.twitter.com/LVXnz0m0bj
On Monday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they are expecting their first child in the spring. The couple was already in Australia when the news broke.
Today the newlyweds visited Dubbo, a town that is experiencing a drought. As soon as they got there, the couple was greeted by a rare downpour according to The Sydney Morning Herald. Is it just a coincidence or did the Royal Baby do it? I am choosing the latter because I think we all need something positive to believe in these days.
Another thing I love about their trip to land down under getting some thunder, is that the Duchess of Sussex actually held an umbrella over her husband’s head. Not security, but his wife. More leaders need to be like this couple and be reminded no one is too good to hold their own umbrella.
Last night we finally found out how The Conners killed off Roseanne and needless to say she did not like it. First she took to Twitter and declared, “I AIN’T DEAD, BITCHES!!!!”
Then she wrote a long post on Facebook with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach. She started it off with, “While we wish the very best for the cast and production crew of The Conners, all of whom are deeply dedicated to their craft and were Roseanne’s cherished colleagues, we regret that ABC chose to cancel Roseanne by killing off the Roseanne Conner character. That it was done through an opioid overdose lent an unnecessary grim and morbid dimension to an otherwise happy family show.”
She then says that Roseanne was the only show that was healing the divide in this country. Of the shows that show both sides of the political spectrum, it is the weakest. The Carmichael Show, Superior Donuts and Last Man Standing all did/do a better job showing both sides of hot topic issues.
When it comes to The Conners, just like Roseanne last season, it is not as good as the original run. To me, the chemistry is not as strong. The actors seem to deliver their lines like punchlines instead of letting them flow naturally. They also don’t feel like lower class family in middle America like they did 30 years ago. That is why we liked it so much.
Having said all of that, will I watch? Yes. Will others, that I am not so sure of. Why watch a show that is nowhere near as good as the original, when you can just watch the original on several other networks.
When it comes to how they killed her off. If she did not like the opioid storyline, then why was it part of almost every episode last season. The writing was on the wall, they just had to put it down on paper. And they did. You can’t fault them and it was obvious from day one of her firing that was how they could get rid of her character.
