Before Joe Morton was a reverend on Gd Friended Me, he was a teacher on Grady. How cool is it to see the 27-year-old in that backdoor pilot for the 1975 sitcom?
Earlier today, GetTV tweeted, “#DidYouKnow there was one SANFORD AND SON episode with no Fred or Lamont? The pilot for the GRADY spinoff — guest starring @JOEtheMORTON (SCANDAL) + #HaywoodNelson (WHAT’S HAPPENING) — 10:30p ET @getTV.” Then Morton tweeted back, “#Grady is an old fashioned sitcom that might elicit some old fashioned laughs. P.S. That’s Nat King Cole’s daughter, Carol Cole, by my side.” Not a bad way first series role to have on long impressive resume.
Orange is the New Black was one of Netflix’s first big shows and now it is ending. The women of Litchfield Penitentiary made the announcement today that next season will be the last one. And they promised it will be a good one.
Are you sad the show is ending? Or did you bail on it a long time ago like I did?
Last week, NBC picked up Manifest for a full season and CBS did the same with FBI. Today, we raise a wine glass to Single Parents because ABC asked them to stick around too.
Is the news a surprise? Nope, because it continually does well after Modern Family. As it should because it gets better with each episode. While the pilot was a little better than OK, the second episode and third episodes were better than the ones before it.
A big reason why is that there is a lot of chemistry between the cast. They play really well off of each other which makes the brilliant lines given to them even funnier.
If you have never seen the show, then check it out tonight at 9:30p on ABC. I promise you will get a few laughs from it.
