It’s time for a Face Off wedding!
August 11th, 2015 under Syfy. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 9p, Face Off turns 100 on Syfy. After nine seasons and 99 challenges, it is time to make the 100th one something that everyone will remember. What is more memorable than a wedding? Nothing, so that is the theme for tonight’s episode and we are getting not one, not two, but seven of them.
The show’s host McKenzie Westmore became ordained to marry them all and she told me, “It is the most memorable, most bizarre and coolest thing I’ve done in my life.” She took the responsibility seriously as she elaborated that “It was an honor for me to get to stand there and marry these couples.”
To see what the lucky seven couples looked like when they said, “I do,” you will just have to tune in to find out. You know because it is part of Face Off that these seven brides and grooms will be like none you’ve ever seen before.

The new trailer for Jem and the Holograms is still outrageously bad
August 11th, 2015 under Movies. [ Comments: none ]

When the first trailer came out for Jem and the Holograms, fans of the cartoon were rightfully pissed by how bad the film looks and how different it seems to be than series we grew up on. So Universal did some retooling and released a second trailer for it. Is it enough to convince you to see it on October 23rd?
No it isn’t. It still looks like a Sunday afternoon movie you would see on Disney Channel about a YouTube sensation. That is fine and dandy for 13 year olds who are looking for their next Hannah Montana, but for anyone who is older than Miley Cyrus, then they are wondering why this movie isn’t going straight-to-DVD?
I am sick of these movies that claim to be a remake or a reboot, but the only thing they have in common with the original is the same title. I know Hollywood lost its originality, but this has got to stop. Don’t piggyback on a well loved classic, when you are going to make your vision all your own. If you do that, then you and anyone under 13 are going to be the only ones who like it.

Late night takes on Donald Trump
August 11th, 2015 under Conan O'Brien, Donald Trump, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers. [ Comments: none ]

Donald Trump running for President is a late night host’s fantasy, and yesterday Conan O’Brien, Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon showed us how much of a wet dream it is for them. Deviants!
Conan came up with a fake ovulating talking stick that looks and sounds like The Donald on his TBS show. Meyers took to his Late Night to go off on the Presidential candidate for 5 and a half minutes. While Fallon dressed up as Trump on The Tonight Show and explained all things that he didn’t mean to say, even though we all know he did.
When it comes to the funniest, hands down that goes to Conan easily. His was also the sickest and most cringeworthy. Then there is Meyers, who is proving once again he is a great replacement for Jon Stewart. His political monologue is well versed and everyone can learn a thing or two from it. Finally, Fallon is the goofiest and that is alright. That is what he is known for and it works.
I love that they are a making a mockery of Trump, I just wish that there were as many people who were actually supporting him. When he announced he was running for President, I thought it was a great joke that kept on giving, but now it scares me how many people are taking him seriously.

When the other family on Family Feud says it’s a good answer, it is!
August 11th, 2015 under Steve Harvey. [ Comments: none ]

Steve Harvey asked the contestants on Family Feud, “Name something you could pass.” After The Gants received their third strike, it was time for The Kral family to see if they could correctly guess one of the remaining answers on the board. When the host asked Bob the question, he said, “a joint.” Not only did his family say it was a good answer, so did the other family answer. Proving it was a good answer, just not good enough to be on the board. What’s up with that because that is the only thing I can think of to pass.
Seriously, how did Family Feud find the only 100 people who haven’t been to a really good concert?

TV Land and The Exes are now exes
August 11th, 2015 under TV Land. [ Comments: none ]

TV Land cancelled The Exes yesterday according to the show’s star Kristen Johnston. With that cancellation, that means they have officially cancelled all of their multicam sitcoms for single camera ones. I think that they have had major mistake. Not only because Hot In Cleveland and The Exes have been their best original shows, but because their new shows suck. Not only that, all of the syndicated sitcoms that they air, are multicams too. Multicams have a longer life than the single camera ones. Both Modern Family and How I Met Your Mother, have not done as well in syndication like some of other modern multicams like the ones from Chuck Lorre.
I don’t have a problem with single camera sitcoms, I just have a problem with the ones on TV Land. I didn’t mind Younger, I just think it tried too hard to be relevant. There’s a difference between being funny by pushing the envelope and pushing the envelope to get laughs. When it comes to The Jim Gaffigan Show, to me it is clean and boring version of Louie. Why would watch that, if I can just watch the original funnier version. Finally, there is Impastor and that show doesn’t have a prayer. Even though it has been doing crappy in the ratings, TV Land still pulled the plug on The Exes that has been doing better than its lead in. Why, it doesn’t make sense? The Exes has a loyal fan base and I know it will do well on their air in repeats. Can the same be said about the two shows that air before it? Since you don’t know what they are, the answer is no.
So TV Land, you lost a viewer because The Exes was the last show of yours I was watching. Antenna TV and MeTV have proven to be better at showing the oldies but goodies than you are and that is your bread and butter. Since you forgot that, I am sure you will get a reminder when The Soul Man and The Exes are no longer airing new episodes on your air.
Are you becoming exes with TV Land like me?
