Mario Lopez has had dance training?
September 18th, 2006 under Dancing with the Stars, Mario Lopez. [ Comments: none ]

MARIO Lopez, the front-runner on ABC’s "Dancing With the Stars," fibbed when he said on the show that he had no dance training. A former dance partner from his days at the School of Creative & Performing Arts in San Diego told us: "We competed in and won several Southern California dance competitions. There’s video. He’s been in dance training since he was about 5 years old." In addition, IMDb.com reveals that Lopez was a backup dancer on "Kids Incorporated" before he was the mullet-sporting heartthrob on "Saved by the Bell." His rep said Lopez had done hip-hop dancing but had no "formal ballroom training."

Stacy Keibler had ballet training which is a lot closer to ballroom than hip-hop. So if her training could be accepted, why can’t his?

RIP Patricia Kennedy Lawford
September 18th, 2006 under Obits. [ Comments: none ]

The Kennedy family is mourning the loss of PATRICIA KENNEDY LAWFORD, the sister of President JOHN F. KENNEDY and former wife of actor and "Rat Pack" member PETER LAWFORD, today. The family released a statement saying that Patricia died Sunday at home in New York from complications from pneumonia. She was 82. "My sister Pat is irreplaceable," Massachusetts Democratic Sen. EDWARD "Teddy" M. KENNEDY said in a statement. "Everyone who knew Pat adored her. She was admired for her great style, for her love and support of the arts, her wit and generosity — and for the singular sense of wonder and joy she brought into our lives." One of nine children born to ROSE and JOSEPH PATRICK KENNEDY SR., Patricia was enamored with Hollywood and married rising star Peter on April 24, 1954 at the Roman Catholic Church of St. Thomas More in New York City. The two settled in Santa Monica, CA, where they traveled in circles with friends FRANK SINATRA and MARILYN MONROE. Years later, they experienced marital differences and divorced in 1966. She is survived by four children and several grandchildren.

Paramount trying to recruit Brad Pitt for Mission Impossible 4?
September 18th, 2006 under Brangelina, Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes/Suri. [ Comments: none ]

Brad Pitt has been lined up to replace Tom Cruise in the next Mission Impossible film. It is a move that will make Pitt the highest-paid actor in Hollywood history. Paramount Pictures, the company behind the franchise, ended their long-running partnership with Cruise and is planning to install Pitt in the lead role. The firm is determined to keep the lucrative series alive after Mission Impossible:III took £212million at the box office, with the previous episode taking £290 million. An insider told London Lite: "MI:IV will not include Cruise’s character, agent Ethan Hunt. They’re considering a brief mention, saying Hunt retired to live a safe life with his new wife. "They’re set on Brad taking over as a gutsy new head operative who puts together his own unique team of specialists." Sources say Paramount is prepared to do whatever it takes to get Pitt on board, and is even willing to make him the highest-paid movie star in history, with a salary topping £21 million. They say that with Cruise now off the lot, Pitt – whose production company Plan B is based at Paramount – is clearly the biggest star with a deal at the studio. Plan B recently won a heated bidding war against Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company for Max Brooks’ upcoming horror novel, World War Z. "Brad is showing the studio what he’s made of," added the source. "Everyone is very impressed. "Everything’s being kept top secret, but they’re offering Brad a deal no one could possibly refuse. There’s no doubt, this would make Brad Pitt the biggest and highest paid star in the world."

Another reason for Tom Cruise to be jealous of Brad Pitt.

Daniel Smith’s second autopsy inconclusive
September 17th, 2006 under Anna Nicole Smith. [ Comments: none ]

The maroon cloth-covered body of Daniel Wayne Smith, the 20-year-old son of Anna Nicole Smith, is removed from the hearse by employees upon their arrival to Butler’s Funeral Home and Crematorium in Nassau, Bahamas, Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006. Cyril Wecht, the private examiner hired by the family, said a second autopsy on the body of Smith did not produce conclusive evidence for the cause of death. He has requested Smith’s medical records from the United States and ordered further analyses that could take weeks to be completed.

Looks like we will not know the cause of death for a while.

Saved by the Bell cast updates.
September 17th, 2006 under Saved by the Bell/City Guys. [ Comments: none ]

So many of you were upset that the Saved by the Bell updates were not of the cast members, so here it is:

Mark-Paul Gosselaar – He has had a successful TV career since the end of SBTB with Steven Bochco doing several years on NYPD Blue and then joining his next series Commander-in-Chief. He has been married for 10 years and has two children, a 2 year old boy and 5 month old daughter.

Mario Lopez – He is currently guest starring on Nip/Tuck and dancing his way in to our hearts on Dancing with the Stars 3. He has hosted several TV shows including The Other Half with Dick Clark, Pet Star and ESPN Hollywood. Mario has one of the shortest marriages in Hollywood history, a total of two whole weeks to former Miss USA, actress and model Ali Landry.

Dustin Diamond – No matter what, he will always been known as Screech. 2006 has not been his year. He sold T-Shirts to raise money to help pay the mortgage on his house, a claim that would later be proven false and now fans are asking for the money back. If that was not bad enough he was mugged by a woman in a hotel in August. He (in my opinion) is the one most likely of this cast to wind up on VH1’s Celebreality.

Elizabeth Berkley – One word, Showgirls. Considered one of the worst movies of all time, she never found much success after that. Since Showgirls she has done Made-for-TV-Movies, guest star roles on TV shows and Broadway. She married in 2003.

Lark Voorheis – She has not done a lot of acting since the end of SBTB. She appeared on daytime soaps Days of our Lives and The Bold & The Beautiful. In May, 2006 she filed a lawsuit against the National Enquirer for libel after they claimed she had a cocaine problem; in August she dropped the case. Lark has been married for 10 years.

Tiffani-Amber Theissen – She has done several TV shows including Beverly Hills 90210, Two Guys and a Girl and Fast Lane. She has also acted in several Made-for-TV-Movies. She is currently making her way round the film festival circuit with her directorial debut of a movie short called Just Pray. Although not the luckiest in love, she did meet her Mr. Right and married in 2005.

Most of this was done by memory, but I had some help from the Saved by the Bell Wikipedia Page!
