RIP Mickey Hargitay |

Access Hollywood has learned that Mariska Hargitay’s father, former Mr. Universe Mickey Hargitay, died on Thursday, September 14, at the age of 80. Last month, the Emmy winning "Law & Order: SVU" actress abruptly abandoned her scheduled appearances on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and Access Hollywood to stand by his side. Hargitay, 42, just had her first child with husband Peter Hermann this past summer. Mariska’s mother, the actress Jayne Mansfield, was the wife of Mickey. She passed away in 1967 in a car accident.
The Hargitay family has supplied the following statement:
Words cannot express how saddened we are by the loss of Mickey. At the same time, we are so grateful for who he was and is to all of us, and for the love he gave us in our lives. He will continue to be our source of inspiration and strength. A private service was held for the family.

 Shar Jackson was in town last week and turned up not once, not twice, but FIVE TIMES at the Chippendales revue at the Rio. The mama of K-Fed’s first two babies was celebrating a belated birthday – her 30th – on one night. On another, she showed up with her niece’s entire bachelorette party…

 As "Dancing with the Stars" enters its second week of competition, the highly rated reality show faces controversy surrounding one of it’s top contenders — and one of the more popular contestants faces a big dilemma! JERRY SPRINGER may have scored well last week, but the tangoing talk-show host has a big problem: no partner! Jerry’s dance partner, KYM JOHNSON, has a knee injury, so she’s currently out of action! Now he’ll have to be partnered with a new dancing pro. In the meantime, Jerry is training with the wife of dancer NICK KOSOVICH.

Anna Nicole Smith’s son was on prescription anti-depression medication when he died at the hospital bedside of the former reality TV star, a pathologist who did a second autopsy on the 20-year-old Daniel Smith said Monday. Forensic pathologist Cyril Wecht said Daniel Smith was being treated for depression that began about 4-6 weeks earlier but that he does not know whether the medication played any role in his death, which came three days after his celebrity mother gave birth to a daughter in the Bahamas. Wecht, speaking by phone from the Miami airport a day after conduction the autopsy in the Bahamas, said he’s still awaiting toxicology tests to determine the cause of death. He said that both he and the Bahamian coroner who did the first autopsy said there is no evidence that Daniel Smith died from a "suicidal overdose."
