Will DWTS3 Mario Lopez’s partner be able to dance tonight?
September 26th, 2006 under Dancing with the Stars, Mario Lopez. [ Comments: none ]

Just hours before tonight’s taping of "Dancing with the Stars," TMZ has learned that Mario Lopez’s partner, Karina Smirnoff, has suffered an injury on the set. While reps for the show are denying that any incident has occured, sources inside CBS Television Studios, where the show is taped, tell TMZ that medics were rushed to the scene to treat an injury to Smirnoff’s back. No word on who Lopez will dance with in the case that Smirnoff will not be able to participate in tonight’s live broadcast. Lopez will no doubt be at a disadvantage without his partner, and with reports of a romance blossoming between the two, his mind will most certainly be distracted from tonight’s routine.

TMZ

I hope this is not true because if it is then he will most likely be out of the competition.

UPDATE from TMZ:

TMZ just spoke with Mario Lopez, who confirmed his dancing partner injured herself today, just hours before "Dancing With the Stars" airs live on ABC. Lopez says Karina Smirnoff "hurt her back and neck in rehearsal" and doctors were summoned to the set. Lopez says Smirnoff is in pain, adding, "I hope she pulls it together. I’m nervous." And a source on the set says at around 7:00 PM Eastern time, Katrina was back rehearsing.

CNN makes a major oops with Nicole Richie
September 26th, 2006 under Celeb Oops, Nicole Richie, TV News. [ Comments: none ]

CNN had the following statement on their news ticker on Monday: "Lionel Richie says he is not happy about his daughters pencil thin figure and neither is Nicole Richie, today she has checked into rehab for an eating disorder."

However, Nicole has responded to the claims on her MySpace page, posting a statement that says, "Contrary to CNN’s false accusations, I did not check myself into an eating disorder rehab. I dont know why or how this rumor started, but i am home, in LA, and very happy. I do not have an eating disorder, and I don’t know how many times I have to say it. Ive repeated myself so many times, I feel like a broken record. Who ever started this rumor is evil and mean, but its not true. I am happy, and healthy, and living my life."

I would hate to be the person who wrote that ticker because you know after being ripped a new one they were fired. Major ouch.

September 26th, 2006 under Chevy Chase, Dick Wolf, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

NBC announced today that Emmy winner and comedy superstar Chevy Chase ("Caddyshack," "Fletch") begins filming this week on NBC’s "Law & Order." Chase guest stars as a television celebrity who is pulled over for drunk driving while wearing blood-soaked clothes, and whose religious prejudice comes out after his arrest. The episode titled "In Vino Veritas" is slated to air on Friday, November 3, 10-11 p.m ET/PT. Chase first came to national prominence as a writer and performer with the original cast of NBC’s "Saturday Night Live," for which he won two Emmy Awards. He has since starred in more than 20 films, including "Foul Play," "Caddy Shack," "National Lampoon’s Vacation" and its three sequels, "Fletch" and "The Three Amigos." Most recently, Chase started opposite Naomi Watts in "Ellie Parker," which premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival. He will next be seen the in the comedy "Funny Money," which opened this year’s Sarasota Film Festival in March.

NBC (Thanks Denise)

Wow, nice to see he can still get acting roles. Actually it is nice to see he is still alive!
Oh now I get it, his episode is like the Mel Gibson case. Kind of lame, but I will probally check it out because there is nothing else on Friday’s at 10p.
