Back in March, The Goldbergs shut down production like all of the other broadcast shows. That was then, and now the cast is back at work today.
However, things are not the same. Wendi McLendon-Covey shared a video on her Instagram stories of her trailer that is full of face masks and shields, hand sanitizer, and disinfecting wipes. That is not all. She now has a bag that she puts her modern-day clothes in a bag while she is in costume. Then at the end of the day, she puts her Beverly Goldberg clothes in a trash bin. Even the green room is different. Now, their chairs are separated by dividers, so that the actors don’t spread it to each other if they have it.
Filming won’t be the same for a while, but at least it is happening.
No word when the sitcom will be back on ABC, but at least they are back at work.
I wonder if they will take on the AIDS crisis this season since that is the closest thing they had to COVID-19 in ’80something. It is easily doable, and I would like to see them do it. Do you want to see that too?
Even though Soap Operas and some reality shows have gone back into production in Hollywood, primetime shows might be in trouble because of the coronavirus pandemic. Wendi McLendon-Covey gave an update to her fans about the status of The Goldbergs’ start date.
Season 8 premiere episode reveal! And let me answer a couple of FAQs:
💙 yes, this is what @seangiambrone looks like between seasons when he doesn’t have to have a haircut once a week. I think it’s adorable!
💛 we don’t have a premiere date yet, because our start date keeps being pushed back thanks to rising COVID-19 cases in LA. So remember people…not following rules about social distancing and mask wearing is keeping people from going back to work.
💚 we will pass all info about start dates, etc as soon as we get them. We promise!
It sounds like ABC’s fall lineup will be Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelorette five days a week. Six if football runs into problems.
Therefore, if you want to watch your favorite shows in the fall, then you need to wear a mask! Do it for Adam F. Goldberg and all of the television characters like his sMother, Meredith Grey, and Dre Johnson.
Surely, I can’t be serious about how bad it is. I am serious and don’t call me, Shirley.
BTW Since The Goldbergs took place in ’80something, they cannot do any COVID-19 storylines like Grey’s Anatomy, Station 19, The Good Doctor, and black-ish, maybe they can do one about The Day After. The telemovie affects each of them differently.
During the ’80something, Barry and Lainey dated on The Goldbergs. Then she got Schooled on love and broke up with him. However, they got back together in ’90something, only to break up again.
Sadly, we didn’t see what caused them to split up on yesterday’s season finale, so the Goldnerds were not happy with the shows’ creator. Adam F. Goldberg explained why it went down that way, “Getting hammered by fans which I expected, but still pains me. Due to actor schedules, we shot our CB/Lainey finale early. I wrote an epic episode giving Barry and Lainey an ending they deserved, but COVID shut down our set. Still grateful to the cast and crew for a great season!”
Coronavirus is ruining everything.
As we wait to find out if Schooled will be back for another season, we can play the highly addictive online game The Goldbergs: Back to the ’80s. It is as addictive as hairspray was in the decade.
Next week, The Goonies turns the big 3-5. In honor of that anniversary, Sean Astin, Corey Feldman, Jeff Cohen, Ke Huy Quan, Josh Brolin, Kerri Green, and Martha Plimpton reunited today to talk about the movie that still has a giant cult following.
So much so, Adam F. Goldberg dedicated two episodes from his sitcoms to it. One on his Fox show Breaking In and the other on his ABC comedy The Goldbergs. You can say he is a huge fan. How huge? He revealed, “For the last 9 years I’ve been secretly writing PART 2 for fun. It’s my masterpiece. I even had a big meeting scheduled with Richard Donner… canceled ’cause of the lockdown! THE GOONIES 2 WILL happen when life resumes. Promise!!!”
If anyone could write a sequel that is loyal to the original, it is him. I hope Donner takes that meeting as soon as he is allowed to take meetings again. Who doesn’t want a Goonies 2? And who doesn’t want it from someone who really idolized the original film?
I know it is a little premature, but let’s all do the Truffle Shuffle in honor of this most excellent news.
