Are these some of the alleged allegations Chris Harrison has on The Bachelor?
June 9th, 2021 under The Bachelor. [ Comments: none ]

Yesterday, it was announced that Chris Harrison is leaving The Bachelor franchise after 19 seasons because of racially insensitive things he said. Before he made it official, there were rumors he was paid 8-digits to leave quietly. As in, the money was reportedly part of a hush-money settlement.

Of course, everyone wants to know what that means. Page Six spoke to a source who told them, “He knows a lot about inappropriate behavior on set: fights between contestants, misbehavior including use of illegal substances while overseas and complaints from producers that were allegedly brushed under the carpet by ABC execs.”

It sounds like UnReal was more real than we thought.

Oh, and when it comes to how much Harrison got? The article says that he wanted $25 million. He didn’t get it. But he still got a lot of money to walk away from the show that he didn’t want to walk away from.

ABC is out of roses for Chris Harrison
June 8th, 2021 under The Bachelor. [ Comments: none ]

After months of wondering if Chris Harrison would return to The Bachelor franchise due to some racially insensitive comments , he made, today we found out if there are any roses left for the host. There are not.

According to Deadline, he is out of the job after some serious negotiations. The former host is reportedly walking away with an 8-digit hush money package. The site says that he will remain quiet about behind-the-scenes “alleged dirty laundry.” What that is, it looks like we will not find out.

When it comes to finding out who will replace him, I don’t know that either. I am rooting for Wells Adams; what about you?

UPDATE: Chris Harrison broke his silence about his exit on social media. He wrote, “I’ve had a truly incredible run as host of The Bachelor franchise and now I’m excited to start a new chapter. I’m so grateful to Bachelor Nation for all of the memories we’ve made together. While my two-decade journey is wrapping up, the friendships I’ve made will last a lifetime.”

UPDATE 1: Warner Horizon and ABC Entertainment released a joint statement saying, “Chris Harrison is stepping aside as host of ‘The Bachelor’ franchise. We are thankful for his many contributions over the past 20 years and wish him all the best on his new journey.”

David Spade is a Bachelor in Paradise

We know that Chris Harrison won’t be hosting the next two seasons of The Bachelorettes because of his racially insensitive remarks. Now, we know he won’t be back to host Bachelor in Paradise this season.

Instead, he will be replaced by comedians like David Spade, according to Variety.

Whoever thinks that this is a good idea has to be the same person who thought it was a smart decision to hire Tyra Banks as the host of Dancing with the Stars. Someone at ABC needs a new job because Wells Adams was robbed of the job.

The Bachelor’s Colton Underwood comes out as gay
April 14th, 2021 under The Bachelor. [ Comments: none ]

Colton Underwood has appeared on three of the shows in The Bachelor franchise, season 14 of The Bachelorette, season 5 of Bachelor in Paradise, and season 23 of The Bachelor. Throughout his journey, he never found love. Today on Good Morning America, he told Robin Roberts why. “I’m gay,” he said.

The 29-year-old knew he was gay when he was 6. However, being raised in a traditional Catholic family and playing football made him repress his true feelings. The church told him it was a sin, and his friends used the word gay as “a connotation of negativity.”

What made him finally come to terms with who he is? 2020. He says he spent the last year, like so many of us, to “look at themselves in the mirror and figure out who they are and what they’ve been running from or what they’ve been putting off in their lives.”

Once he was finally comfortable in his skin, he told his family and friends. His father was immediately accepting of his son. His dad even offered to help him tell people about his sexuality. Getting that support from his dad was everything. His friends were equally as supportive and said they wish he would have come to them earlier.

Then there is his time on The Bachelor. He said to Roberts that when he was got the offer, he thanked Gd for making him straight and allowing him to find a wife and have kids.

Does he regret doing the dating competition show? “I’ve thought a lot about this too, of, ‘Do I regret being the Bachelor and do I regret handling it the way that I did?’ I do,” Underwood said. “I do think I could’ve handled it better, I’ll say that.”

Underwood also wishes he handled it better with the woman he chose on the show. The Bachelor says he loved Cassie Randolph, and that made things more confusing for him. One thing that is not confusing to him now is the message he has for her. He wants her to know he is sorry from the bottom of his heart.

Thankfully, now he no longer has to apologize for who he is. He gets to be his true self. Hopefully, by coming out, he will be able to help others to do the same.

If I were ABC, I would bring him back to the Bachelor Nation to find a husband. It would be really empowering if they did it.

UPDATE: Chris Harrison had a message for Colton Underwood. “Very proud of you today @coltonunderwood,” the host wrote. “Happy to see you stand up and openly live your truth. You have my love and support my friend.”
