Did you watch The X-Files and wish you could solve a case with Scully and Mulder? Well, now you can, sort of. That is because LEGO is releasing a set dedicated to the ’90s Sci-Fi drama.
The box comes with 1,478 pieces so that you can create their office, a forest with an alien, and a UFO to make it feel more like the show. It also comes with figures of Flukeman and five other agents.
The set was created by a fan. Brent Waller comments: “I was obsessed with The X-Files from the moment I first saw it in the ’90s. I originally built Mulder’s office back in 2014 while rewatching the series, and it grew from there as a personal project. I wanted to combine nostalgia, detail and storytelling to capture the atmosphere of the show – from Mulder’s office to the forest and UFO encounter. I’m thrilled to see it become an official LEGO set and hope it resonates with both long-time fans and new audiences.”
It will be available to purchase on August 1st for $199. And purchases between August 1st and the 10th (while supplies last) will come with Scully in a lab coat to go with her lab.
The set is for 18+, but I will give it to my 12-year-old niece to build it for me. Because it is too complicated for me.

I can see that being relegated to an old book case and covered in dust and cobwebs in no time.
At one point in my not-so-distant past, I was a die-hard Trekkie. Had all the models and playsets… even as a 30-something adult. They are all gone now. Realized that the fandom was fleeting. Every now and then, I remember I have a U.S.S. Enterprise (2008) model sitting high up on a book case shelf. It's covered in as much dust as you would expect for something that has not been touched in 15+ years. I am afraid to see if I left the batteries in it…
I just hit a point where… I grew beyond it. I let it go.
I look at the Lego sets in much the same way – time to let it go.
