Stephen Colbert and James Corden will return to their workplaces
August 6th, 2020 under Stephen Colbert. [ Comments: 1 ]

Stephen Colbert and James Corden are leaving their houses and going back into the studio next week for the first time since March. When production shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic, all of the hosts did their talk shows from their homes with everyone else doing their work remotely.

However, last month, Conan O’Brien left his house for a comedy club in LA, and Jimmy Fallon returned to 30 Rock. Now, Deadline is reporting that The Late Show and The Late Late Show will is doing the same. Like the other shows, they will not have an audience. No word if their guests will be shot remotely, but I would assume so.

Little by little, Hollywood is getting back to work, and that is a very good thing.

The Dixie Chicks almost went by MEN
July 19th, 2020 under Dixie Chicks, Stephen Colbert. [ Comments: none ]

A few weeks ago, The Dixie Chicks revealed that they were dropping the Dixie from the name, and they will just go by The Chicks from now on.

On Thursday, when they were on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, they told him why they changed their name. Natalie Maines said that they have wanted to do it for a long time, and now was the perfect time to do with everything going on.

In fact, they tried out different names like DCX, The Chicks, MEN (Martie, Emily, and Natalie), Puss’n’Boots, and Wooly Puddin’. Finally, they wound up settling with The Chicks, but I wish they would have gone with MEN.

The band was not only there to share details about their new name, but they were also there to talk about Gaslighter, their first album in 14 years that came out on Friday.

They recently released the single, March, March, which is a protesting anthem. It is so relevant that you would think they just wrote it. Emily told the CBS host that they started writing it two years ago after they went to March For Our Lives demonstration in DC.

Why we are marching might change, but the basics will always remain the same. I can’t wait to live in a world where we don’t have to March, March.

Stephen Colbert will be around until 2023
October 17th, 2019 under Stephen Colbert. [ Comments: 1 ]

CBS announced today that Stephen Colbert will be hosting The Late Show until 2023. They better hope that Donald Trump gets reelected. If he doesn’t, the most-watched show in late night will see their ratings decline to where they were before he got elected. Which is not a good thing.

I get why they extended his contract, but I cannot watch him. He is so boring that I cannot even watch his interviews or clips to post. I try to watch his interviews, but they are so bad I hit stop after a minute. I know people love him, but I am not one of them.

BTW I so do not want Trump to get reeleceted. I miss the days when late night TV did not only talk about him.

Who is late night’s mystery guest coming up on Thursday?
August 2nd, 2019 under Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, Stephen Colbert. [ Comments: none ]

Sue Trowbridge, who runs the site Interbridge noticed something strange about the guest booking for the late night shows on August 8th. Since she has been listing which people are going to be on what talk shows since 1994, she would know if something is out of the ordinary.

What did she notice? She saw that Conan, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert all have a “Special Guest TBA.” Who this guest is, we have no idea since they are to be announced.

Here are some of my theories. My first thought is Beyonce is going to release an album on the 9th and she is going to make the announcement on their shows. Or maybe one of the studios is releasing a secret movie next Friday? Could Oprah Winfrey or Michelle Obama be announcing that they are running for President of the United States? What about a bunch of celebrities announcing a telethon to raise money for something? Avengers: Endgame is coming out on home video the 13th, what if a cast member appears on each show with a special announcement.

Here is another interesting question, how will they handle it? Will they each get an exclusive with said guest? They all tape and air at different times. Would they all set a certain time so they could all interview them at the same time in a group interview? Will the guest give all of them a pre-taped statement? Will they each interview the person individually? Since Conan airs first, we will have to wait until T0ursday at 11p to find out.

Who do you think the mystery guest is? It has to be someone HUGE and it is not television show related.

Jeff Goldblum lost his virginity on his opening night!
July 26th, 2019 under Jeff Goldblum, Stephen Colbert. [ Comments: none ]

Jeff Goldblum has had an interesting life and it all started on the first night of his professional career.

Back when he was 18 years old, he made his acting debut in Shakespeare in the Park’s Two Gentlemen of Verona. On the opening night, he not only lost his acting cherry, but he also lost the other important one.

Only Jeff Goldblum can kill two milestones in one night! Which is why we bow down to him.

Too bad Stephen Colbert didn’t let him finish the story. That is why I say The Late Show host is the worst interviewer in late night.
