Studio 60 is a huge TiVo Season Pass hit!
September 27th, 2006 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

"Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," NBC’s new series from Aaron Sorkin about the innards of a network and its hit show has caused conspicuous comment and an auspicious initial segment, followed by a slight dip in its second week. But I got word from the net that TiVo has "raised our eyebrows" because "the audience has spoken." Todd Juenger, the vice president and general manager of audience research and measurement at TiVo, told me the series has broken into TiVo’s Top 10 Season Passes, standing at #8, according to the report on TiVo Central Online, which is updated daily. Hundreds of thousands of TiVo viewers were so hooked by the premiere that they set their TiVo Season Pass to record all these shows. Juenger said "No other new show has passed the top 50–except "Vanished" in #48. "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip’ is No.8. Stay Tuned.

Wow, this is really cool. It will be interesting to see if the networks will be smart enough to take notice of this? BTW Studio 60 is on my Season Pass too!

September 26th, 2006 under Chevy Chase, Dick Wolf, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

NBC announced today that Emmy winner and comedy superstar Chevy Chase ("Caddyshack," "Fletch") begins filming this week on NBC’s "Law & Order." Chase guest stars as a television celebrity who is pulled over for drunk driving while wearing blood-soaked clothes, and whose religious prejudice comes out after his arrest. Chase first came to national prominence as a writer and performer with the original cast of NBC’s "Saturday Night Live," for which he won two Emmy Awards. He has since starred in more than 20 films, including "Foul Play," "Caddy Shack," "National Lampoon’s Vacation" and its three sequels, "Fletch" and "The Three Amigos." Most recently, Chase started opposite Naomi Watts in "Ellie Parker," which premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival. He will next be seen the in the comedy "Funny Money," which opened this year’s Sarasota Film Festival in March.

NBC (Thanks Denise)

Wow, nice to see he can still get acting roles. Actually it is nice to see he is still alive!
Oh now I get it, his episode is like the Mel Gibson case. Kind of lame, but I will probally check it out because there is nothing else on Friday’s at 10p.

Project Runway moving to NBC?
September 16th, 2006 under NBC, Project Runway. [ Comments: none ]

THE TV-industry-heavy "Project Runway" audience was buzzing about L.A.-based NBC CEO Jeff Zucker’s first-time-in-three-seasons appearance, front row center, next to Bravo President Lauren Zalaznick at the reality show’s runway finale yesterday morning. "Since ‘The Apprentice’ isn’t coming back to NBC in January, I wouldn’t be surprised if the network picks up ‘Project Runway’ and ‘The Apprentice’ goes to Bravo," says one industry insider. "As soon as Zucker sees the star wattage here, he’ll be sold."

I hope this rumor is false because it will lose the feel it has now.

Zach Braff refused entry to the NBC lot
September 16th, 2006 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Zach Braff was refused entry to the NBC/Universal studio lot for a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show because security guards failed to recognize him. Braff showed up at the studio main gate in Burbank, California, to tape his appearance on the talk show and couldn’t get past the front office. Guards refused to believe Braff was a celebrity and were adamant he couldn’t bring his dog on the lot, even though he’d appeared on the show with his pet in the past. Braff admits he was more than a little embarrassed because his hit medical sitcom Scrubs is an NBC/Universal show. He says, "I gotta say it’s one thing on another lot but this is the NBC lot. I’m a pretty humble guy, I didn’t want my ego to get in the way but the guy wouldn’t let me on and I’m like, ‘So you don’t watch any of the shows?’"

In the security guard’s defense, have you seen the ratings for Scrubs?

September 15th, 2006 under Friends (cast), Matthew Perry, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Former Friends star Matthew Perry turns on a pornographic tape which parodies his hit TV series when he wants to reminisce about his time on the hit show. The star, who played Chandler Bing on the hit series, appeared on Tonight Show With Jay Leno Wednesday where he the talk show host asked him if he missed being on the successful show. He joked: "I certainly miss the people. There’s a Friends porno out there that I watch if I’m ever missing the old gang. It’s called Fiends. "They’ve hired a bunch of actors that kind of resemble everybody in the cast." Perry claims he is annoyed with his character’s portrayal in the movie adding: "All of the characters are sleeping with each other except for the guy who is playing Chandler, this is true, who throughout the entire film just sits in the corner wearing a sweater vest and masturbating."
