When James Corden first started out doing CBS’s Late Late Show, One Direction was one of his first guests. It was a pretty big get for the brand new late night host, so how did he get them?
At a CBS Studios event, he told the press how he knew one of the band members since the singer was just a preteen. He explained, “Louis (Tomlinson)’s mom was a chaperone on a TV show that I did in 2002 (Fat Friends) and she used to chaperone a couple of the kids on the show and Louis would hang around on the set a little bit.”
About 8 years went by and then he got an email from Johannah Poulston telling Corden that her son was doing The X Factor in London and would he mind looking after her son and his bandmates since they are there on their own.
So now he was going to chaperone the kid of the woman who used to chaperone the kids on the show he worked on. Although, I am not sure he really did that because he revealed, “A few of them would come around a couple of times and we would play Play Station games and eat pizza and my wife would feel like she was babysitting us.”
Either way, they have kept up their friendship after all of these years and that is why they were one of his first guests. Well, Corden’s show has been on for a while now, and his old friends will be on it again tonight at 12:35a. What is that special thing he has planned for them? We will only find out if we tune into CBS, but we do know that it will be something you don’t want to dodge.

We know that Carrie Underwood likes to let Jesus take the wheel, but yesterday she let James Corden do it when she took a ride with him to do Carpool Karoake on The Late Late Show.
Since the CBS late night host is new to the United States, Country Music is new to him. He asked the American Idol winner to take him shopping, so that he can look like a Country star. He put on some snake skin boots, a Cowboy hat and a leather vest. Then he asked the salesgirl how much it all cost, and he hit notes that only Carrie can hit. The shoes are $800, the hat is $200 and the vest is $2,000. $3,000 for all of that? I’d rather be a Rocker where you can get a whole new look for 1% of that! Rock on!
And that is exactly what they did when they got back in the car to see who could hold a note longer. Poor Carrie lost that fight, but the hills will always be alive with her even though they let her down in that car.
One note I forgot to mention is that I love when she admitted that she finds it hot when her husband, Mike Fisher, knocks out another player’s tooth during a hockey fight. I am totally down with her on that. It is totally hot! It’s the only reason to watch hockey!
Lastly, am I the only person who wants Underwood to release an album of all Wham! covers?
When James Corden announced that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was going to be a guest on The Late Late Show yesterday, the actor had a surprise waiting for the CBS late night host. That present was a mistletoe, but Corden was on the stage and he was in his dressing room. Not to ruin the moment, the Third Rock from the Sun star ran out of his green room on to the stage and gave the host the best kiss I have ever seen. One that was so sexy, CBS was excited that this show airs at 12:30a. And I am just excited after seeing that.
Yesterday on The Late Late Show, James Corden invited Justin Bieber back for a second round of Carpool Karaoke and the singer accepted. The two of them sang along to some of The Beebs biggest hits and then they stopped off to buy the other one clothes. Let’s just say the CBS late night host should never become a personal shopper.
Then when they were done shopping, the paparazzi was waiting for them. What happens next was pretty funny. Back in the car, it was time for another song, this one was not one of Bieber’s but instead it was Alanis Morissette’s Ironic. A tune that is close to Bieber’s heart.
Then it was time to get serious and Corden asked Bieber how he felt about those nude photos. The Baby Baby can laugh about it now, and admits he was suffering from shrinkage. I’d like to see what he looks like on a warm day then.
Now that all of that is out of the way, it’s time for one last song before their ride comes to end. That is until next time which can’t come soon enough.
Anna Faris has a new Podcast coming out called Anna Faris is Unqualified Questionable relationship advice from completely unqualified Hollywood types, and yesterday she told James Corden on his Late Late Show about one of her callers. A man called up and said he didn’t know if his girlfriend was having a real or fake orgasm. She told him maybe you are watching too much porn if you expect her to sound like a dying hyena. Then she demonstrated what that sounds like. If Chris Pratt has to listen to that every time they have sex, then I feel sorry for him.
Talking about feeling sorry for some men, The Mom star made Joshua Jackson and the CBS late night host cry on the show. How? She used a crying stick. Maybe because they had some assistance, but they were better at faking their tears, then she was at faking her sex cheers.
