Over the last few months, James Corden has taken several singers in his car for Carpool Karaoke. What we didn’t know is that he was secretly recording a song with all of them and yesterday he debuted their version of Joy to the World on The Late Late Show. One Direction, Stevie Wonder, Iggy Azalea, Rod Stewart, Carrie Underwood, Jason Derulo, Justin Bieber and the CBS late night host all did such a joyful version of holiday tune that it lived up to its name.
I dare you to listen to it only once. I am already up to my 15th time and counting.
One Direction are the latest musicians to take part in Carpool Karaoke with James Corden on The Late Late Show and they finally have a music video for their song No Control. The video is unlike anything else they have done because they all wear the same shirt and it’s choreographed. That and there is a fifth member, who is no Zayn Malik, but I like the new guy who is old compared to them.
Corden enjoyed it so much, he tried to convince them to cancel their hiatus. Was he successful? Nope, they need their break and they have deserved it.
Justin Bieber has been on The Late Late Show a lot. In fact, I think he has been on the show the most since James Corden took over earlier this year. I guess that made the singer feel that since he has been on the show so many times, why doesn’t he just host it. That is exactly what he tried to do yesterday.
While the CBS late night host was in the shower getting ready for the show, The Beebs had the band play him out, so that he could start the show with his monologue. As he was telling jokes, Corden came onto the stage and yelled at his friend. He told him to get off the stage and that he couldn’t host the show. Well the audience didn’t like that, so James said sorry, made nice and let him throw to the opening credits.
Meanwhile, CBS is thinking, maybe we can buy Corden out and let Bieber host the show. Craig Ferguson did a similar stunt with Drew Carey and we know how that ended. Hopefully, this time it will end better for Corden than it did for Ferguson.
James Corden is new to America, so he is trying to make friends and learn about our version of the game football. What better way to do that than to have a sleepover with Dallas Cowboy’s Tony Romo? So that is exactly what the two men did. The quarterback and the CBS Late Late Show host played games, told scary stories and so much more. It was so much fun, I wish I was invited. Mostly because I so would’ve dipped Corden’s hand in warm water. That and getting the chance to sleep next to Romo? What more can you ask for?
Romo was so naturally funny during this touchdown of a bit that I hope he considers a career in acting when he retires from his day job.
One Direction was on their old buddy‘s show last night and James Corden played a new game with them. The CBS late night host had them take part in Tattoo Roulette. Basically, there were five boxes, they each chose a box, four said safe and one said tattoo, and the person who got tattoo would have to get one. Not any ordinary one, the band would get Late Late on their body and Corden would get One Direction.
Niall Horan was terrified of this game because his body is ink free and he really didn’t want it. His nervousness was so cute that it made you like him even more. Was he right to be nervous? Nope, his friend Harry Styles got the dreaded box. Once it was clear that he was loser, Styles let the tattoo artist leave his mark on him.
So now Harry will never forget the time he was The Late Late Show. On a positive note, at least they didn’t get the tat that Ed Sheeran got his chest. That would’ve totally sucked.
