William Shatner is going to Mars with other celebrities
April 12th, 2023 under Fox, William Shatner. [ Comments: none ]

William Shatner has been to outer space, and now he is going to Mars with Fox on June 5th. And he won’t be alone.

Stars on Mars, an out-of-this-world new unscripted series, in which household names trade in their possessions, status and glamourous lifestyles on Earth for an insane and hilarious summer on “Mars.” Their mission? To be suited up with no space to go, as they colonize, compete and conquer their new galaxy surroundings, until there is just one “celebronaut” left standing. Legendary actor and Star Trek icon William Shatner serves as Mission Control and will deliver intergalactic tasks to these shining stars throughout their journey on the red planet. Stars on Mars touches down Monday, June 5 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

I don’t fully understand what the show is about, but I will be watching. Because who doesn’t think the Shat is the shit? Especially when he says stuff like this, “Good news for our celebronauts from Mission Control. Thanks to lower gravity on Mars, you’ll weigh 62% less. Bad news: the air is unbreathable, so if you’re from LA, it’ll remind you of home.”

Everyone is having a bad day on Animal Control tonight
April 6th, 2023 under Fox, Joel McHale. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 9p on Fox, today is not going to be a good day for the employees of Animal Control.

The episode starts off with Emily (Vella Lovell) seeing Shred (Michael Rowland) walking into the office with his girlfriend, who is visiting him. Just when she thought she had a chance with him, in comes his girlfriend. The lucky lady came with Shred to work so that she can invite everyone over for dinner to get to know them.

Before we get to that point, Frank (Joel McHale) is excited about Shred’s 10-week review as a probie. Frank being Frank gives him a bad one because he doesn’t want to have a partner.

As much as Frank doesn’t want a partner, he is going to need Shred when they have to go bring in a vicious dog that is so scary Seattle PD won’t go inside the house to capture him. So how will they get the hellhound under control?

They are not the only ones who have a bad day with an animal. Victoria (Grace Palmer) and Patel (Ravi V. Patel) have to dispose of a dead smelly sturgeon. They don’t want to deal with it, so they push it over to the side of Fish and Wildlife. The duo thinks they are in the clear until Fish and Wildlife decide to get their revenge on them. And it doesn’t stop there. You have to see what happens to this dead fish.

After a day like that, it will be nice to have a relaxing dinner with friends. What could go wrong? You just have to tune in to see.

That and to watch the best new comedy of the season. If you are not watching, then you are missing out on lots of laughs. And who doesn’t need to laugh on a Thursday?

It’s prank war time on Animal Control tonight
March 30th, 2023 under Fox, Joel McHale. [ Comments: none ]

On a past episode of Animal Control, Victoria (Grace Palmer) pranked Frank (Joel McHale) and made him think he had a shot with the Hot Vet. Instead, he wound up hooking up with someone else in the office that everyone hates.

Well, tonight at 9p, it is time for Frank to get his revenge on Victoria. He decides to put her apartment on the market, and he even got a realtor to show it while she was out.

Needless to say, she is not happy about it and swears revenge on him. He doesn’t know how or when, but it is going to happen.

Frank’s partner Shred (Michael Rowland), has some ideas about Frank and Victoria. He thinks that they use their prank war to flirt with each other. And Frank wants someone to knock some sense into him.

Someone will. That is because they go to call about a loud peacock. When they get there, some neighbors get into a fight with their neighbor over his noisy peacock, and one of them winds up hitting Shred in the head with a bag of melons.

Well, it looks like Shred probably got a concussion over that, so Emily (Vella Lovell) insists that someone watch him. Patel (Ravi V. Patel) volunteers to do it to get away from his family. Since Emily doesn’t trust him with Shred, she decides to stop over and check on them both.

While they are preoccupied with that, Frank and Victoria are on a stakeout to record the peacock making noise for three minutes straight. What is going to happen when the two of them are alone in a van all night?

I can’t tell you that. What I can tell you is that it is the best sitcom that Fox has produced in a really long time. We all need to laugh, and this show delivers that! Has Joel McHale ever done anything that isn’t funny?

Animal Control switches up partners tonight
March 23rd, 2023 under Fox, Joel McHale. [ Comments: none ]

Ever since Animal Control debuted, we have been used to Frank (Joel McHale) being teamed up with Shred (Michael Rowland), Amit (Ravi V. Patel) working with Victoria (Grace Palmer), and their boss Emily (Vella Lovell) staying in the office.

However, tonight at 9p, the hysterical Fox sitcom changes things up. That is because Frank throws Shred out of the van for a very good reason. But when he gets back to the office, Emily makes him go out with Amit to catch a skunk. Will their time stink together?

Do you know whose time isn’t going to stink? Victoria’s time because the hot vet (Alvina August) asks her to help her deliver a llama’s baby! Finally, Victoria gets some alone with the hot vet. Maybe she can beat Frank in their bet to see who can get her to go out with them. Will the hot vet choose her over Frank? Emily puts a wrench in her plan when she shows up unexpectantly.

The only reason why Emily had time to do that is because Shred opts to run her errand for her. When he gets there, Templeton beats him to the location, and the two men are going to have to fight over what they need. Who will win?

We win because we get to watch this show every Thursday and laugh until it hurts! Even though they changed up the work family dynamic, they still delivered an episode with a lot of heart! So, as I have been saying since the premiere, tune in for the animals and stay for a show that is equal amounts of heart and laughs!

Fox picks up Accused and Alert Missing Persons Unit for another season
March 23rd, 2023 under Fox. [ Comments: none ]

Fox has picked up their two scripted midseason dramas, Accused and Alert: Missing Person Unit, for a second season.

“We are excited to continue our long partnership with FOX to bring more Accused and Alert to audiences around the world,” said Katherine Pope, President, Sony Pictures Television. “It’s wonderful to see these timely, poignant stories resonating with viewers, and we want to congratulate the writers, producers, cast, and crew on their success. We are incredibly proud of their collective work and look forward to seeing where these series go next!”

Accused does standalone episodes that tell the story of someone who is on trial, and we see their case play out as the events happened. Alert stars exes Scott Caan and Dania Ramirez, who work to find missing people, including their own son.

The two dramas join The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, The Great North, The Cleaning Lady, and Krapopolis on the 2023-2024 schedule.
