Dolly Parton is such a fan of the Taco Bell Mexican Pizza that she is going to do a musical for them. Now, that the favorite item is back on the menu, she just had to have one.
Unlike Mariah Carey, the singer took a few bites and shows us yummy it is.
The biggest difference between Dolly eating one and us eating one is that she didn’t make a mess, while I always get Mexican Pizza guts all over the place. That is why she is Dolly Parton, and I am me.
Everyone and their brother on Broadway would love to do a musical with Dolly Parton. However, it is Taco Bell who actually made it happen.
The singer announced this morning, “I’m making #MexicanPizzaTheMusical with @TacoBell #tacobellpartner”
Back in January, Miss Dolly talked about her love for the fast food giant and said that she wished that they would bring back the Mexican Pizza. As soon as the company heard that, they knew they needed to bring it back. So now they are, and they got the legendary musician to help them get the word out with a live TikTok musical on May 26th at 8p EST. Thus, you are going to want to make your calendars now because you don’t want to miss Taco Bell: The Musical.
Normally, I would tell her to break a leg. But in this case, I think we should be saying, “Hope you break wind!”
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced who is going to be inducted into the Hall of Fame this November, and Duran Duran finally made it in. The band will be joined by Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, Eminem, Eurythmics, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, and Carly Simon.
Several of the inductees released statements about being admitted.
Annie Lennox wrote, “Well – @Eurythmics made the grade, thanks to every single one of our truly loyal ‘fans’! The appreciation goes to YOU! Much love from Annie and Dave! ❤️ 😎😎 Gangstas forever!!”
Pat Benetar and her husband, Neil Giraldo, said, “We are thrilled and humbled to become part of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame family. Thank you to everyone who voted especially the fans and congratulations to all the other inductees.”
Lionel Richie had this to say, “Being elected to @rockhall is an incredible honor. I would like to say THANK YOU to all of the voters, to all of my wonderful fans and to everyone at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Congratulations to all of my fellow 2022 inductees! #RockHall2022”
As of now, Eminem, Carly Simon (who is the second person from my hometown to be inducted because it is all about me), and Dolly Parton have not commented.
I can’t wait to hear what Dolly has to say. The legendary singer initially said she would turn it down. But on Monday, she said she would accept the award gracefully. Now that she is in, I am curious how she will react to it now that it is really happening.
And she deserves it because she inspired plenty of Rockers. However, I think that New York Dolls deserved to be in there over the Eurythmics. Annie Lennox deserves it as a solo act, but not with Dave Stewart and their band. New York Dolls dolled up Punk and Heavy Metal music by the way they dolled it up. They would wear their girlfriends’ clothes on stage, and it is a look that is still popular today. I know many people will disagree, but I think they meet more recognition.

Dolly Parton is nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. However, last month, she said she would like to bow out from the nomination. The Rock and Roll of Fame responded by telling her it was too late to pull her nomination.
Today, when the singer was on NPR Morning Edition to promote her book, Rose, Run with James Patterson, the host asked her what she would do if she won. “Well, I’ll accept gracefully. I would just say thanks and I’ll accept it because the fans vote,” she said. “But when I said that, it was always my belief that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame was for the people in rock music, and I have found out lately that it’s not necessarily that. But if they can’t go there to be recognized, where do they go? So I just felt like I would be taking away from someone that maybe deserved it, certainly more than me, because I never considered myself a rock artist. But obviously, there’s more to it than that.”
Dionne Warwick, who is also nominated this year, feels the same way as Dolly. Warwick thinks that they should change the name of the Hall of Fame to something that is more inclusive for musicians who are not Rock and Rollers. I have to say that both ladies are right. So it will be interesting to see if the Hall of Fame will consider changing their name.
The winners, which better include Duran Duran, will be announced next month.
On Monday, Dolly Parton bowed out of her nomination to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame because she says she is not worthy of the honor. Shortly after that, Dionne Warwick told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that she is also not interested in being inducted because she is not a Rock’n’Roller.
Warwick then went on to say they should rename it the Music Hall of Fame so musicians of all genres would feel welcome. And I think she has a point. Of the five musicians that are currently in the lead, only Pat Benatar is a Rocker. Duran Duran and Eurythmics are New Wave, Parton is Country, and Eminem is Rap.
So, if Dolly dropped out, does that mean that Judas Priest, who are Rockers, will be inducted instead? The Rock & Roll Foundation released the below statement:
All of us in the music community have seen Dolly Parton’s thoughtful note expressing her feeling that she has not earned the right to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In addition to her incredible talent as an artist, her humility is another reason Dolly is a beloved icon by millions of fans around the world.
From its inception, Rock and Roll has had deep roots in Rhythm & Blues and Country music. It is not defined by any one genre, rather a sound that moves youth culture. Dolly Parton’s music impacted a generation of young fans and influenced countless artists that followed. Her nomination to be considered for induction into to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame followed the same process as all other artists who have been considered.
Dolly’s nomination, along with the other 16 artists for the class of 2022, was sent out earlier this month to our 1,200 general ballot voters, the majority of whom are artists themselves, for consideration for induction at our ceremony.
We are in awe of Dolly’s brilliant talent and pioneering spirit and are proud to have nominated her for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
So, I guess the answer is yes. Therefore, we will have to see if she is inducted, will she show up to the party.
I know of one band, who almost didn’t show up because they were expected to pay for their tickets and were encouraged to buy a table. It is not that they didn’t have the money, they were against it in principal. If only I knew then to tell him how my friend paid to accept his Tony award, an award that wasn’t even presented on television.
