Dolly Parton is releasing her first Rock album in November. It is such a massive deal that she was able to recruit The Beatles’ Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr for her cover of their tune Let It Be!
I don’t think anyone could’ve have imagined that these three would ever work together. But they did. And what we got is epic.
We are exactly one year away from the start of the 2024 Olympics in Paris, and NBC is starting to promote the global sports event that will air on their networks.
What better way to do it than with Dolly Parton? The singer is releasing a Rock album on November 18th, and one of the tracks is a mashup of Queen’s We Are the Champions/We Will Rock You. Two songs that are perfect for the Olympics. So NBC asked her if she would like to include clips from past Olympics to promote the upcoming one, and she said yes.
Dolly released that music video today, and now I am excited for the Summer games. I love watching gymnastics and all the competitions.
And I am not the only one who loves watching. “I love the Olympics! I do my best to plan my schedule to watch as much of it as I possibly can,” says Parton. “I tape it just in case I miss the live action on a certain day and watch it back as soon as possible. I laugh, I cry, I scream, there are no losers in the Olympics as they have all spent a lifetime preparing but I celebrate with the ones that go away with the gold, silver, and bronze medals.”
We know that NBC will include her in their coverage. But it will be interesting to see if France invites an American to sing two British songs during the opening ceremonies. I doubt it, but you never know. Who else can they get?
When Dolly Parton was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, she initially declined the offer because she didn’t feel that she earned it since she never released a Rock album.
I say initially because she wound up getting inducted into their HOF and accepting the honor. So to right a wrong, the Country singer is releasing a Rock record later this year full of covers, duets with other Rockers, and originals.
Today, Miss Parton released a single from her upcoming CD, and it is a mashup of Queen’s We Are the Champions and We Will Rock You.
And Rock you, she definitely does with the tune. She is a champion in whatever genre she takes on. Rock on, Dolly!
Dolly Parton is 77 years old, and it feels like she is never going to slow down. However, she told Ken Bruce on his radio show on Greatest Hits Radio that she is no longer touring.
So does that mean she is retiring from everything else after almost working hard for almost 60 years in the music business? “I’ll never retire. I’ll just hopefully drop dead in the middle of a song on stage someday. Hopefully, one I’ve written. But that is how I hope to go.” she said. “As long as I am able to work. As long as my health is good, and my husband’s is good. [That is] the only way I will slow down or stop for that reason.”
And the singer is not planning on stopping anytime soon. She will still be performing at special concerts and festivals. She just won’t do a full-on tour because that will take up about two years of life with prep and being on the road.
So she listed all the things she dreams of doing before she sings her literal swan song. Miss Parton wants her own network television show that will tell the adventures of exciting and interesting life, host more TV shows, do more movies, and have a makeup line, a line of wigs, and clothes.
So this is not the last we will see of her; she will be everywhere if she has her way. And I hope she does because we can never have enough Dolly Parton!
Anyone in America can tell you that we are divided. It is the way we see things, and you are not going to convince us otherwise. We don’t listen to the other side, and they don’t listen to us. It is really a sad state of affairs.
We do not agree on a lot of things, but there is one thing we all agree on. We all love
On November 17th, the beloved singer is going to release her first Rock’n’Roll album, Rockstar. And today, we are hearing one of the nine original songs on the 30-track album.
World on Fire is the type of song that could unite us because she is calling both sides out for the lies and not getting along. There is only one problem. The Right will think it is about the Left, and the Left will think it is about the Right. And they are both wrong because it is about both sides.
So let’s let Miss Dolly bring the US peace. World peace, but even she is not that good. No one is.
Parton will perform the single tonight on the ACM Awards. She is hosting the Country Music Shindig with Garth Brooks on Amazon.
