Alec Baldwin is not Batman’s dad
August 29th, 2018 under Alec Baldwin, Batman. [ Comments: none ]

There are reports that Alec Baldwin is going to play Batman’s dad in the Joker origin film with Joaquin Phoenix. Some of those reports wrote that Thomas Wayne is going to be a Donald Trump-like character. Well, I guess those rumors do not sit well with Baldwin.

That is because the actor tweeted today, “Let me state, for the record, that I have NOT been hired to play a role in Todd Phillips’ JOKER as some Donald Trump manque. That is not happening. Not. Happening.” I guess the Joker is on the people who spread those reports.

Personally, I hope this movie does not get made. I just have no respect for Phoenix after I’m Still Here. That and I think the Warner Bros/DC Comic movies are so so so dark. Too dark to even be enjoyable.

Joaquin Phoenix is a Joker

After months of rumors that Joaquin Phoenix is going to star as The Joker in an origins film, Warner Bros confirmed today that it is a go today according to The Hollywood Reporter. No word when the Todd Phillips directed film will be coming out, but it is slated to begin filming in September.

What about Jared Leto’s Joker from Suicide Squad? That feature is still in the works. Because what does Hollywood need more of? They need more movies from DC Comics and Marvel. Says fewer and fewer moviegoers.

Back to Phoenix as The Joker, I think it is a bad choice. Ever since his stupid stunt for a movie that totally sucked, I lost all respect for him. He is crazy enough to play the villain but he does not have the same charm as Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger who have also played the iconic role.

Imagine Marlon Wayans as the Robin to Val Kilmer’s Batman
March 1st, 2018 under Batman, Jimmy Fallon, Wayans Brothers. [ Comments: none ]

Did you know that Marlon Wayans was originally cast as Robin in Batman Forever? Yesterday when he was on The Tonight Show, he explained to Jimmy Fallon what happened.

He auditioned for Tim Burton, who was the directing the movie at the time, and he got the part. Then they decided to go another way because they were introducing all of these other characters like Catwoman and the Penguin to the franchise. They felt the followup to this movie would be Batman & Robin.

I guess the studio didn’t like that idea and replaced Burton with Joel Schumacher, and the latter decided to bring Chris O’Donnell on as the Caped Crusader’s sidekick.

Was Wayans upset with being recasted? At first yes, but then he realized, “You can’t have a Robin with a bigger cod piece.” Now had they waited until George Clooney took over The Dark Knight than that would not have been a problem. We have all heard the rumors that they had to make the crotch bigger for his costume.

Now that you know Wayans was the original Robin, do you think he would have done a good job in the part?

A tale of 2 Jokers!
September 6th, 2017 under Batman, Jared Leto, Star Wars. [ Comments: none ]

Mark Hamill has been voicing The Joker for several cartoons over the last 25 years, and yesterday he met Jared Leto who has played him in Suicide Squad for like 25 months. Yesterday, the two of them met at GQ’s Men of the Year and they did not to have a big red smile painted on their faces to show us how happy they are to meet each other. Granted how can we tell that a smile is not painted on underneath their thick beards?

Either way how amazing it is to see the two actors so enamored with each other? Maybe Luke Skywaler can play The Joker’s dad in the rumored Suicide Squad spinoff? How awesome woudl that be?

Family Guy will air 5 more episodes with Mayor Adam West

Adam West has appeared in over 100 Family Guy episodes. Even though he is no longer with us, he will still be heard in five more episodes. Entertainment Weekly spoke with EP Steve Callaghan, who told the magazine that his episodes will air as is because they are respectful to the beloved late actor.

The executive producer also said that they do not know how they are going to write off the Mayor of Quahog. Along with his untimely death, they are also working on how to deal with Carrie Fisher’s sudden passing last last year, who played Peter’s boss Angela. This is their third death, last season they dealt with the passing of Frank Sinatra Jr, who passed away in 2016.

Instead of ending this post on a sad note, here is what we can expect West’s finale episodes, “At one point, Mayor West comes into possession of the $1 bill as he is hover-boarding through town with a rat in his pocket. Mayor West riding a hoverboard with a rat in his pocket — that’s certainly something to look forward to…. Later in the season, Mayor West is called upon to preside over a ceremony for a group of millennials. It does not go well.”
