Get ready to do the Carlton because the cast of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air got together to do lunch over the weekend. Alfonso Ribeiro did not say why Tatyana Ali (Ashley), Karyn Parsons (Hilary), Will Smith (Will), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Vivian) and Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey) all got together again to shoot the breeze almost 21 years after the sitcom ended, but he did say that he wishes his TV father James Avery was still around to complete the reunion.
Since we don’t know why they reunited, let’s assume it is because they want to do a television reunion. Smith could totally use it to help his career. Plus, we want to see them all together again on the small screen just like we love seeing the Full House and Gilmore Girls casts reviving their shows for Netflix. Let’s petition for it to happen because they look as close as ever!
For decades, we always thought that Alfonso Ribeiro didn’t have any rhythm because of the dance he did on Fresh Prince of Bel Air, but turns out he can charm the pants off of a girl with the way he moves his hips.
Yes, he won Dancing with the Stars, but that only shows off choreographed moves. Yes, he was The Tap Dance Kid, but that shows off his feet. Yes, he did break dancing with Michael Jackson, but that is a stiffer type of movement than what he just did with Charo. Who knew he could move his torso like that? I can’t stop looking at his silver spoon area. Seriously, aren’t you impressed?
Now, when it comes to Charo and him, I hope he rubbed his mirrorball trophy on her for good luck because I want to see her Cuchi Cuchi win this season of the ABC dancing reality competition show that starts tonight!
Let’s be honest with each other. If you saw Alfonso Ribeiro, then you would probably ask him to do The Carlton Dance for you. There is a time and a place to ask him to do that and the urinal is not one of those places. That’s right, he told Harry Connick that men will ask him to do that when he is taking a leak. Depending on the guy’s size who is asking him, he can’t exactly Tap Dance Kid his way out of it.
The morale of the story, is wait to make him dance for you until after he has zipped up, washed his hands and dryed them off. You definitely don’t want to ask him for an autograph until he is done with all of that. At least I wouldn’t.
Could you imagine Fresh Prince of Bel-Air without Alfronso Ribeiro playing Carlton? Well, the then new head of NBC, Warren Littlefield, imagined it. In fact, Ribeiro told Good Morning America that the big wig tried to replace the Tap Dance Kid, after the pilot even though the Producers and Will Smith said he was the right guy for the part.
Then after Littlefield went through the whole audition process, he too realized that America’s Funniest Videos host was the funniest guy for the part. And the rest is TV history.
Miley Cyrus was on The Tonight Show yesterday and Jimmy Fallon asked her about her knee cap looking like other celebrities. When she was younger, it looked like Alfonso Ribeiro when he was Carlton Banks. Then as she got older and smoked a lot of Pot, it took on a new person’s face. Now her knee is the spitting image of Seth Rogen. In fact, it looks more like him than he looks like himself. But maybe I got a contact high thinking of the two of them, so maybe that is why I am seeing that. Are you seeing it too?
