Want to stay at the last Blockbuster overnight?
August 13th, 2020 under Airbnb, DVD. [ Comments: 1 ]

Airbnb

Remember when you used to go to Blockbuster (when they were on every corner like Starbucks is now), and you wished you could stay there all night long? Well, now you can.

The last Blockbuster in the world is on Airbnb for three nights in September. That’s right, you can stay there from the store’s closing at 9:30p until its opening at 9a. You can browse their huge library of movies, watch several of them too from the bed they added to their store, and eat lots of sugary snacks and popcorn. However, I would avoid Chopping Mall as one of your movie selections.

Sounds too good to be true? It is. Because of COVID-19, there are a lot of restrictions. For example, you have to live in Deschutes County in Oregon, where the store is located. It is just a little thank you from them to their community. Airbnb is also giving back to their community by making a donation to the Humane Society of Central Oregon.

You know, if it does well, then maybe they can open stores/Airbnbs all over the world again. I would love to spend a night in Blockbuster. I miss reading the backs of DVD cases.

Who knew in 2020, Be Kind, Rewind, would mean Blockbuster being kind to open their store overnight and rewind us to a time when the only killer virus was in a few Zombie based movies like Night of the Living Dead? The good old days.

Want to stay at a real Barbie™ Malibu Dreamhouse?
October 17th, 2019 under Airbnb, Barbie. [ Comments: none ]

Have you ever wanted to stay in a Barbie™ Malibu Dreamhouse? Well now you can! AirBNB and Barbie teamed up to make our dreamhouse come true. For $60 per night, you can stay at home that is Barbie approved between October 27-29th.

It is being described as, “Located in the heart of Malibu, my Dreamhouse has three floors with ocean views and open spaces for friends and family to hang. My pool is the perfect place to cool off from the California sun, but I never travel without my waterslide, so I’ll be taking that with me. And whether you’re enjoying an outdoor meal, watching a movie in my personal cinema, or making s’mores under the stars, the best part is just being together.”

Heck for $60 a night, even I am thinking about doing it. Who is with me?

BTW I wonder if Ken is included! I guess if he was, it would cost a little more for that service.

The Full House creator buys the Full House house!
December 1st, 2016 under Airbnb, Full House. [ Comments: none ]

Before Full House ever debuted Jeff Franklin drove around San Fransisco to find the perfect house for his sitcom. He handpicked 1709 Broderick St, and now almost 30 years later, he owns that very house. And it only cost him $4 million dollars according to The Hollywood Reporter.
What was the first thing he did when it was his? He painted the door back to red. Something I am sure is bringing joy to the nearly 250 fans that stop by every day to see it.
If that is not good enough news for you, he plans on filming in it and also renting it out to the fans. Imagine seeing that listing on AirBNB? I would spend a night there, wouldn’t you?

Ashton Kutcher is going to be a guest Shark on Shark Tank!
July 20th, 2015 under ABC, Airbnb, Ashton Kutcher, Shark Tank. [ Comments: none ]

Ashton Kutcher didn’t only play a tech mogul on Two and a Half Men, he is one in real life. So when one of the Sharks needed some time off from Shark Tank, the producers thought he would be the perfect Shark to swim in their water. That’s right, he going to sit on the panel and offer up his own money if he likes what he hears from the entrepreneurs.
In case you don’t know how successful he is outside of acting, here are some of the companies he as invested in in the past. Ron Burkle, Guy Oseary and him created the venture fund A-Grade investments in 2011 and invested in Airbnb, Spotify, Uber, Flipboard, SoundCloud, Foursquare, Shazam and Houzz. Then last year Oseary and him founded Sound Ventures and helped to fund Pager, Handy, Meerkat, Zenefits, Classpass and more. I don’t know about you, but I think that proves he is more than qualified for the job,
In fact, I hope that Mark Burnett is auditioning Kutcher for another show he does called The Celebrity Apprentice. How amazing would he be to replace The Donald? I’d tune in every week. Plus, imagine the celebrities that would jump at the chance to be in his boardroom?
Back to Shark Tank, Ashton is not the only guest Shark who is going to appear on the show this season. Chris Sacca, Former Google Exec, Venture Capitalist and Tech Veteran, and Troy Carter, Entertainment Mogul, Branding Expert and Investor, are also slated to appear on the show.

Want to spend the night at Conan O’Brien’s?
May 28th, 2015 under Airbnb, Conan O'Brien. [ Comments: none ]

Airbnb has some really cool locations on their site for you stay at and now they are adding Conan O’Brien’s rafters to their locales for one night only. That’s right you can spend the night high above where Conan tapes his TBS late night show on June 3rd, all you have to do is enter for the chance to win by June 1st. It is packed full of amenities like a bed, free parking on the premises and that’s all. While it doesn’t come with much, you can tell your friends and family you stayed at the place where they filmed Karate Kid 2, Mildred Pierce and Conan. They should be impressed by the first two.
Only restriction is that you can’t throw rocks at O’Brien when they are taping the show, but you can do that during commercial breaks.
What more do you need to enter? Nothing, so enter at Airbnb’s site. Good luck!
BTW out of all of the talk shows, Conan has the nicest studio by far.
