The second season of Jury Duty finally gets a verdict
February 20th, 2025 under Prime Video. [ Comments: none ]

I don’t know about you, but I already thought that Prime Video picked up a second season of the surprise hit Jury Duty. However, they didn’t.

That is until now. And the hidden camera prank sitcom has already been filmed outside of the courtroom. According to what sources told Deadline, “the theme of the new installment is David vs. Goliath. Taking inspiration from classic 1980s movies such as Animal House and Caddyshack, it is about a small business going on a company retreat, with the real, unsuspecting person tested when a Goliath suddenly shows up.”

Prime Video has not confirmed any of the details, so we don’t know anything more than that. I just hope they announce a premiere date soon because I can’t wait to watch.

BTWF: Jeremy Allen White on Law & Order
February 20th, 2025 under Before They Were Famous, Dick Wolf. [ Comments: none ]

Before Jeremy Allen White had an alcoholic mom on The Bear, his mom was a racist on Law & Order. He looks the same now as he did when he was 16 on that 2008 episode.

Matthew Broderick graduates from high school to college entrance consultant on Elsbeth
February 20th, 2025 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 10p on CBS, Matthew Broderick and his son, James Wilkie, will guest star on Elsbesth.

Broderick plays Lawrence Grey, a man who helps kids get into the colleges of their parents’ choice for a hefty fee. So, when one of his past students becomes the admissions officer at the top college, he thinks he has an in.

However, it is quite the opposite. He refuses to let any of Grey’s clients in. If that happens, then Lawrence will be out of a job.

Therefore, Lawrence comes up with a plan to kill his former student, and he is successful. But will he be able to outsmart Elsbeth (Carrie Preston)?

Along with trying to solve the case, Elsbeth questions if she did enough to help prepare her son for college and life afterward. And Teddy is still trying to figure out his dynamic with his sweet but over-caring mom.

While Elsbeth is having problems with her son, Matthew is not having any issues starring alongside his son, James Wilkes. The younger Broderick plays a success trainer in Grey’s company.

I hope the two of them continue to work together, maybe in Ferris Bueller 2? On that note. If you ever wondered what would have happened to Ferris, this episode gives you an idea. At least, that is how I felt while watching him because I felt like I was watching that character all grown up.

When it comes to the episode, it hits another endearing homerun. Preston is just so lovable; you can’t help but adore her and the police procedural, which, in case you missed it, will be back for a third season.

CBS picks up 9 shows, Hulu stays in Paradise, and 9-1-1 news at ABC
February 20th, 2025 under ABC, CBS, Chuck Lorre, Ghosts, NCIS, Ryan Murphy, This Is Us. [ Comments: none ]

Today was a good day for several series on CBS, Hulu, and ABC.

I will start the news off with CBS. The network picked up Tracker, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, Hollywood Squares, Elsbeth, Fire Country, NCIS, NCIS: Origins, and NCIS: Sydney for another season.

But that is only eight shows. What is #9? Ghosts will haunt us for two more seasons.

Those nine join returning shows Matlock, FBI, Survivor, and The Amazing Race, new shows Fire County spinoff Sheriff Country, Blue Bloods spinoff Boston Blue, and singing competition The Road.

Over at Hulu, Dan Fogleman’s Paradise, which stars his This Is Us star Sterling K. Brown, will remain underground for another season.

Finally, ABC loves 9-1-1 so much that they are adding Nashville to the franchise next season. But before then, we are going to get a 9-1-1/Doctor Odyssey crossover in March. According to Variety, the episode takes part during Casino week, and “unexpected guest Athena Grant suspects two passengers are targeting the ship’s vault. Enlisting Max’s help, Athena raises the stakes in a dangerous game where not everyone will end up with a winning hand.”

I wish ABC and Ryan Murphy had picked someone else to take the cruise because it seems
unrealistic that she would get back on a ship so quickly after last year’s water disaster.

Even though we are seven months away from the 2025-2026 season, I can’t wait for it to start.
