We never know what is going to come out of Stephen King’s mind, and The Long Walk is another example of that.
In a dystopian United States ruled by a totalitarian regime, a group of young men enter an annual walking contest in which they must maintain a speed of at least three miles per hour or risk execution. The contest ends when only one walker remains alive.
RULES OF THE WALK:
Total participants: 50
Required pace to maintain: 3 MPH
If participants fall below the required pace, they will get a warning. If they are unable to reach the speed within 10 seconds, they will get an additional warning.
Total warnings: 3
Note: Participants are eliminated before a 4th warning is called.
How far could you go? How far will they go? That we will find out on September 12th.
A little over a week ago, Astronomer’s CEO’s life crashed down to earth when he was caught by the ColdplayCam having an affair with the company’s CPO. Since then, they are not only out of their marriages but also their jobs.
And the United States got a much-needed break from all things Trump.
Now, we have even more content to enjoy. The company hired Chris Martin’s ex, Gwyneth Paltrow, to shoot a video explaining their company to us because we have shown interest in what they do. Yeah, that’s it.
I am happy they have a sense of humor about this because I am sure they need it after this month.
Snoop Dogg always seems to be busy with his music for adults and kids, The Voice, TV shows, and ice cream. So, you think he would be rolling in the dough. But he spends a lot of dough rolling joints. And we know he needs his pot.
What is he going to do to make extra money? The Rapper took a job at Raising Cane’s and is working the drive-thru, much to the delight of anyone who got/gets served by him.
But is he really working at the chicken finger joint (no pun intended)? Nope. He was there to promote that the fast food restaurant will be giving out a free chicken finger with every Box Combo sold on Sunday for National Chicken Finger Day.
Fun fact: National Chicken Finger Day is a holiday that Raising Cane’s founder, Todd Graves, founded. The day was created to celebrate the MVP of their menu, the chicken finger!
Savannah Bananas’ Robert Anthony Cruz was on CNN yesterday to talk about the most talked-about baseball team in the United States. They are unconventional and do things like dance and sing on the field.
Cruz has a little trick he likes to do, and that is a backflip. He has done it thousands of times during their games, so doing it on live TV should not be a problem? Wrong! He didn’t connect with his flip like he normally does, and he crashed down face-first onto the hard floor.
It was not so much the crash that was funny, but rather the sound it made. Even he agrees that the thump made it “10X funnier.”
So, what happened? “When you do a flip, you are looking for the ground while you’re rotating,” he said. “So, I remember jumping back and seeing a bright light in my face, and the floor itself was very light. I kind of just lost where I was in the air and wound up under-rotating, plus my feet slipped. I also got to say my arms were flailing. I have no idea why it was like that.”
Is the coach OK? He had to get several stitches on his lip and under his chin. However, the most painful thing he suffered was that his pride was hurt.
I have no doubt that he will redeem himself over and over again! And if not, he will become a viral sensation all over again. And is that really a bad thing? I don’t think so, but I am a sadist and like to see people in pain.
