Sarah Michelle Gellar is ready to slay the Buffy table read
July 22nd, 2025 under Freddie Prinze Jr / Sarah Michelle Gellar. [ Comments: none ]

Buffy the Vampire Slayer ended its run in 2003. Since then, fans have been clamoring for more. After years of teasing a reboot, Hulu announced that they are bringing the series back with a sequel starring Sarah Michelle Gellar returning in the title role.

Today, the actress shared some photos that appear to be from the pilot episode’s first table read. Thus, making the sequel more of a reality.

There is not a lot known about the new Buffy. We know Gellar is playing Buffy Summers, and she will have an apprentice, played by Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Her character is described as an introverted high school student.

I wish I could be excited about this, but I just don’t think Gellar can play the role like she played it 25 years ago.

July 22nd, 2025 under Adam Levine, John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, The Voice. [ Comments: none ]

Today, NBC announced that The Voice is going to be back for season 29 at the beginning of 2026, who will be coaching, and the changes they are making to make it more thrilling.

The Voice: Battle of Champions sees the return of three Champions: Kelly Clarkson (four times), Adam Levine (three times), and John Legend (once). The first time that all the Coaches are winners.

Since it is a battle of three competitive Coaches, be prepared for it to be a fast-paced competition.

Four rounds, each featuring a distinct “Voice” first:

  • Blinds: Coaches compete against each other in the “Triple Turn Competition” (vying for the most three-chair turns) with the winner gaining a special advantage in the next round.
  • Battles: The coach with the most three-chair turns automatically earns a “Super Steal” for the Battles. This coveted prize can only be used once and trumps any other coach’s attempt to steal, guaranteeing a win.
  • Knockouts: Each coach brings back two fan-favorite artists from their teams in previous seasons to compete in an “In-Season All-Star Competition.” All-stars represent their former coaches as they battle in head-to-head sing-offs. The coach with the most sing-off wins is guaranteed a second finalist in the finale. For this special episode, coaches call upon original Voice coach CeeLo Green to sit in on the competition and determine the winner of each All-Star Showdown.
  • Semi-Final and Finale Week: Kicks off with a Top 9 Semi-final and culminates in the Top 4 Finale. For the first time in show history, a new voting block comprised of super fans and past “Voice” artists will have the opportunity to get in on the fun firsthand, experiencing the competition as part of the in-studio audience voting for their favorites in real time during the semi-finals and finale.

After the Blinds, each coach with have ten artists. How long they get to keep those artists, we will have to tune in to see.

Season 28 returns in the Fall with Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan, and Reba McEntire.

Derek Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert, are working on a new project. They are expecting their first baby later this year.

They made the announcement on social media in a video with the couple hugging and the mom-to-be showing off the baby’s sonogram. You can also see her baby bump, which makes me think that she is in her second trimester.

The Houghs met in 2014 when she was cast to be one of Julianne Hough’s backup dancers. By 2015, they were an item. However, they did not get engaged until 2022 and tied the knot in August 2023.

Four months later, their love was tested when she suffered a burst vessel in her brain and underwent emergency craniectomy. She survived the surgery, but she had a long road to recovery, and he remained by her side.

Now that that bad time is over, they are ready for the good times, like their first baby!

Stephen Colbert takes the gloves off!
July 22nd, 2025 under Stephen Colbert. [ Comments: none ]

Last week, CBS cancelled The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and a lot of people are speculating that Donald Trump played a part in it. That is because Paramount just settled a lawsuit with the president over a 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris. They believe that part of that agreement was the cancellation of Colbert’s show, due to the fact that he has been a vocal opponent of Trump since he came down the escalator.

After the cancellation went public, Mr. Orange said he loved that Colbert was fired. However, what he didn’t realize is that Colbert still has ten months left of his contract. That’s right. From now until May, the host can say whatever he wants, and there is nothing potus can do about it. I mean, he has already been fired. What are they going to do, fire him again?

So, yesterday, Colbert got in the ring, took off the gloves, and went below the belt. He did this by showing us that Trump’s scribbled signature is like the pubic hair of a naked lady drawn on a birthday card to a former BFF, Jeffrey Epstein. And now that image will forever be stuck in my head.

Back to the monologue. Colbert had a message for his enemy: “Go fuck yourself!” And the audience loved it, as did I.

They also loved it when he came out of commercial break and brought out Weird Al Yankovic and Lin-Manuel Miranda to cheer him up with a song. The two songwriters picked a Coldplay song to perform as the camera panned the audience and showed the other East Coast late night hosts, Andy Cohen, Anderson Cooper, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Jon Stewart, and John Oliver, supporting him.

Because these are not the days of Jay Leno and David Letterman, or Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien. The late night hosts have banded together, and Trump has opened a can of whoop ass on himself.

Trump is too dumb to realize that you don’t want to pick on the wrong kid because they will fight back and win. If his feelings were hurt before this, just wait. They are just getting started.

There will be ketchup.
