Are you still sad that Hulu decided not to move forward with the Buffy the Vampire Slayer sequel? Well, Mattel found a way to make you feel better and create your own sequel. How? They are releasing Buffy products from their Monster High and Polly Pocket lines.
The Monster High box comes with a 10.5″ Buffy and an 11″ Angel doll. She is wearing bold red pants, a black faux-leather jacket, a holster belt, a crossbow, a stake, and black boots with a secret weapon. Her lover, Angel, dons a dark Celtic-printed shirt, black pants, a black pleather trench, and a silver sword necklace.
The Polly Pocket Compact comes with Buffy, Willow, and Xander to slay in two different locations. The top part is based on the library where they worked with Niles, and the bottom part takes place 6 feet under, as in a cemetery where the vampires hang out.
I would run to buy one of the two if they came with a Spike figure. Let’s be honest, he was the only reason to watch during the latter seasons.
Both sets are expected to be released on September 4th
About a year ago, Hulu started working on a new Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Sarah Michelle Gellar was going to reprise her role.
I say was because today the actress revealed that the streamer is not moving forward with Buffy the Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale.
The project was from Hamnet director Chloé Zhao. “I want to thank Chloé Zhao, because I never thought I would find myself back in Buffy’s stylish yet affordable boots,” Gellar said. “And thanks to Chloé, I was reminded how much I love her and how much she means not only to me but to all of you. And this doesn’t change any of that. And I promise if the apocalypse actually comes, you can still beep me.”
The reboot seemed a like a boots, I mean shoo-in, to be picked up to series. But I guess not. This is the second reboot of hers that looked like it was going to happen. The first was Cruel Intentions. Maybe it is her?

Netflix is resurrecting Star Search on January 20th. The streamer already revealed that Anthony Anderson is going to fill Ed McMahon, Martha Quinn, and Arsenio Hall’s shoes, and today they announced who will be the celebrity judges.
They are…Jelly Roll, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Chrissy Teigen.
I get Jelly Roll, but the other two? What does Teigen know about talent? And Gellar is always the weakest cast member in every role she plays. And we learned during the Buffy the Vampire musical episode that she can’t sing. My ears still hurt from her attempt at it.
Well, at least we have a good host and singer as part of the talent competition series.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer ended its run in 2003. Since then, fans have been clamoring for more. After years of teasing a reboot, Hulu announced that they are bringing the series back with a sequel starring Sarah Michelle Gellar returning in the title role.
Today, the actress shared some photos that appear to be from the pilot episode’s first table read. Thus, making the sequel more of a reality.
There is not a lot known about the new Buffy. We know Gellar is playing Buffy Summers, and she will have an apprentice, played by Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Her character is described as an introverted high school student.
I wish I could be excited about this, but I just don’t think Gellar can play the role like she played it 25 years ago.
