The ocean rebels in the spectacular series The Swarm
September 12th, 2023 under The CW. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 9p on The CW, you are going to tune into The Swarm for your newest addiction. The 8-part German series is based on Frank Schätzing’s 2004 book, Der Schwarm, which makes you wonder what would happen if the ocean decided to rebel against us humans.

I love Disaster movies and ones that are based in the ocean, and The Swarm doesn’t disappoint. Plus, the series is so beautiful to watch that you forget the sea creatures are trying to kill us.

The series starts off with a fisherman in Peru who thinks it is going to be another day in the office, aka the water. But when he loses his net, he makes the mistake of going under to get it back. As he tries to get it free from a rock, he finds himself trapped by a swarm of pissed-off fish.

Leon (Joshua Odjick) is a whale researcher, and he is called out to look at a dead orca on the beach in Vancouver. He needs to find out why this giant mammal washed up dead on shore.

This is not the only thing he is concerned about; the whales are late this year, and he doesn’t know why. It is starting to hurt the tourist town that needs them for their economy

Things seem to be looking up when they return. But things take a quick turn for the worst with their arrival.

Charlie Wagner (Leonie Benesch) is earning her Ph.D. in microbiology. She believes that we are overfishing, and she isn’t wrong. Now, the fish of all sizes are mad, and they are not going to take it anymore.

Most Disaster series have a great pilot episode, but then they go to crap. The Swarm keeps getting better as the show goes on. And let me tell you, the final scene in tonight’s episode will leave you with your chin on the floor.

Seriously, you can tell they spent a lot of money on this series, and it looks better than the big-budget movies that cover the same topic.

Seriously, there is so much that will blow you away. I just sat back and watched in awe. It is the story that grabs and doesn’t let go.

Could this happen? Who knows? But we just did have a hurriquake in California. So, at this point, if the muscles wanted to show some muscle, I wouldn’t be surprised.

Oh, and I am never eating lobster again! But I will tell you about that next week.

Matthew McConaughey gives Joy Behar a foot massage
September 12th, 2023 under Matthew McConaughey, The View. [ Comments: none ]

Matthew McConaughey was on The View today to talk about his children’s book, Just Because. And Joy Behar took advantage of his appearance on the daytime talk show to get another foot massage from him.

He gave her one a few years ago, and she wanted another. So she got a pedicure to prepare for his magic hands, lifted up her leg, and told him to massage her foot. So he did.

The Oscar-winner explained that he got this ability from his dad. You see, his father would massage his sons’ girlfriends’ feet when they came over. The girlfriends liked it, so he knew that it would work if he gave them one. And it did. But then again, he is Matthew McConaughey, and there is a lot that is alright, alright, alright with him.

However, not everything they discussed on the show was alright with him. Behar was really confrontational with him on vaccines and guns, and he wasn’t there for it. To be honest, she made his whole segment uncomfortable, and you can tell the other panelists were telling her to back down.

But it wasn’t all negative. We also got to see McConaughey’s new wax figure that will displayed at the Madame Tussauds in Manhattan. To see his awwdorable reaction to his life-size candle, then click here!

Shark Tank scares up Blumhouse’s Jason Blum
September 12th, 2023 under Blumhouse, Shark Tank. [ Comments: none ]

Oh, the horror! Shark Tank is getting into some scary business this season because they asked Jason Blum to be a guest Shark, according to Deadline.

Blum is the CEO of Blumhouse, whose studio has brought us movies like M3GAN, the last three Halloween movies, Happy Death Day and its sequel, and Jem and the Holograms, to name a few.

The article did not say when he will appear on the show, but I am assuming the week of Halloween. Although, he has two movies coming out in October, The Exorcist: Believer on the 6th and Five Nights at Freddy on the 27th.

Other guest Sharks this season include Fanatics chairman & CEO Michael Rubin; Candace Nelson, founder of Sprinkles Cupcakes and CN2 Ventures and Pizzana co-founder; Emma Grede, CEO and co-founder of Good American and founding partner of Skims. Daniel Lubetzky, founder of Kind Snacks, Camino Partners and Starts With Us.

Shark Tank is back with all new episodes on September 29th.

Watch Jon Bon Jovi react to a stadium singing Livin’ on a Prayer
September 12th, 2023 under Bon Jovi, NKOTB, Sports figures. [ Comments: none ]

Jon Bon Jovi is a traitor to his home state of New Jersey. That is because instead of supporting the New York Jets or the New York Giants, he is team New England Patriots. Which is as much of a sin as a girl from The Bronx supporting the New York Mets over the New York Yankees.

But this is not about me. It is about the singer. On Sunday, he went to the Patriots game in Boston, and Gillette Stadium played Bon Jovi’s Livin’ on a Prayer. Whether you love the band or not, you are going to belt out that chorus. And that is exactly what the Boston and Philadelphia Phillies fans did. Much to the delight of Bon Jovi, who was seen rockin’ out with the crowd.

Even Donnie Wahlberg thought the fans had the right stuff to sing along! And Jovi was in New Kids on the Block territory.

Now, back to Bon Jovi. Can someone please explain to me why they never did the Super Bowl Halftime Show? They would’ve brought down the house. But that is never going to happen because Jon says the NFL blew their chance of ever having them play.

Dancing with the Stars moves to Tuesdays
September 12th, 2023 under Dancing with the Stars. [ Comments: none ]

Dancing with the Stars has been on Monday nights for as long as we can remember. But on September 26th, it moves to Tuesdays on ABC.

Not only is DWTS no longer on Mondays, but neither is The Bachelor, aka The Golden Bachelor, this season. So, it makes you wonder what ABC has planned for Monday nights this season. And ABC desperately needs a hit because they are reality and game show heavy this fall due to their bosses not negotiating a better contract with the writers and actors.

On that note, the dancing competition show announced on Good Morning America today that Jamie Lynn Spears will be competing this season. The Sweet Magnolias star says she will be donating her weekly paycheck for DWTS to the striking actors and writers.

It will be interesting to see if the other actors will follow suit. I highly doubt it.

Scandoval’s, I mean Vanderpump Rules, Ariana Madix, and The Bachelor’s Charity Lawson are also dancing this season. The full cast and who they will be dancing with will be announced tomorrow on GMA.
