ABC finally has a hit on its hands, and not they are not going to let anything happen to Abbott Elementary. Therefore, they gave the Emmy-nominated sitcom a full season order for this upcoming season, according to Deadline.
The news is not a surprise because people talk about it, it does well in the ratings, and it received seven Emmy nominations, including Best Comedy. So the network would be stupid not to give the series a 22-episode order.
However, ABC is stupid because the show should be leading the Wednesday night lineup instead of the should’ve been cancelled The Goldbergs.
Abbott Elementary returns with new episodes on September 21st.
Pearl Jam played Paris Lollapoolaza on the 17th, and the elements affected Eddie Vedder in a negative way, as you can hear in the performance above.
“Due to the extreme circumstances at the last outdoor site outside of Paris (heat, dust, and smoke from the fires) our singer Ed Vedder’s throat was left damaged. He has seen doctors and had treatment but as of yet, his vocal cords have not recovered,” the band wrote in a statement when they cancelled yesterday’s show in Vienna.
Today, they announced they are cancelling tomorrow’s gig in Prague. “We were hopeful that Ed would make a recovery in time to perform tomorrow. He has seen a doctor in Prague and is continuing the treatments for his vocal cords, but unfortunately, there is still no voice available.”
Hopefully, Vedder gets his voice back soon because I know how much the fans (my best NY friend) love to hear him sing live.
Pearl Jam’s next shows are in Amsterdam on the 24th and 25th. As we know, they have a smoke issue too.
Daniel Kaluuy was on The Tonight Show yesterday, and Jimmy Fallon and Questlove played the Jump Scare Challenge with the actor to find out who would get scared the least.
The three men watched videos with a jump scare in them, and we got to watch them jump as they got scared. Who knew Questlove was such a scaredy cat?
As good as the first few scares were, the last one is the best one. So you don’t want to miss it.
And I hope that they bring this back because I am a sadist who loves to watch people crap their pants. Watch from a distance because I don’t want to smell it!
The Orville has pulled off some excellent guest stars like Ted Danson, Liam Neeson, and Charlize Theron. However, on this week’s episode streaming now on Hulu, they had their most famous and unexpected cameo to date.
Who was it? Dolly Parton! I seriously couldn’t believe that Seth MacFarlane pulled that off, and no one knew about it until her scene came on that I actually thought it was fake. At first, I assumed she was a hologram (like her character). But it was really her in the flesh or projection.
“What an honor to be on @TheOrville with @SethMacFarlane and @RenaOwen. I might be as old as yesterday, but with all this new technology they make me look as new as tomorrow,” the beloved singer wrote. “I really hope the fans enjoy it as much as I enjoyed being a part of it.”
So my hat is off to MacFarlane for landing such a legend and keeping her appearance a secret until it was out.
When it comes to why Dolly Parton is in the future and what song she sings, I am not going to tell you. I am just going to tell you to watch this season to find out because what a powerful season it has been thus far.
And what makes it even better is the musical score that intensifies every scene they use it in. I never heard music better than they use it on the show.
