Andrew McCarthy and Demi Moore have a mini-St. Elmo’s Fire reunion
March 14th, 2022 under Andrew McCarthy, Brat Pack, Demi Moore, Reunions. [ Comments: 7 ]

Back in 1985, a movie came out called St. Elmo’s Fire, and it is said to be the movie that launched the Brat Pack. It starred Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, Rob Lowe, Ally Sheedy, Mare Winningham, Judd Nelson, and Emilio Estevez. Every teenager in the ’80s wanted their 20s to be like the characters in that movie.

That was then. The movie never got a sequel, so we were left to imagine what would happen to those friends when they were in the 50s. Over the weekend, we got to see that Jules and Kevin would still be hanging out in the year 2022.

So why did Andrew McCarthy and Demi Moore reunite? The actor wrote, “Great talking with my old friend Demi Moore today for my Brat Pack documentary!” Now, I want to know all about that doc that he is making and who is going to be in it. If the documentary is as good as his autobiography, Brat, it is going to be even better than St. Elmo’s Fire.

Now, let’s talk about how incredible the two 59-year-olds look. They look even better now than they did then.

Abbott Elementary is promoted to second grade, I mean, season
March 14th, 2022 under ABC. [ Comments: none ]

ABC is so proud of the grades that Abbott Elementary is getting that they picked the sitcom for another season.

The news was announced by Principal Coleman today, “The camera crew I hired to showcase all that I’ve made happen at our beautiful school thinks I’m a star. I mean, are we surprised? No, we’re not 🙂 With that said, it is with great pleasure that I share they’ll be returning for the 2022-2023 school year! That’s right – Abbott Elementary Season Two is coming to a screen near you.”

The renewal is no surprise because it is the only ABC series that is getting any positive reviews. I can’t wait to see what mayhem the teachers cause next season because you know each episode will be filled with lots of love and laughs.

Ryan Reynolds put his daughter to work
March 14th, 2022 under Ryan Reynolds. [ Comments: none ]

Ryan Reynolds is taking a hiatus from acting and donating lots of money to great causes. Because of that, I guess he needs to save whatever dinero he does have. Therefore, when he shot his latest commercial for his company, Mint Mobile, he put one of his three daughters to work behind the camera.

Sadly, he didn’t think the decision through because he paid her with approval and candy. What happens when you give a kid candy? They get hyper, and the camerawork gets messy. I guess next time, he will give her the candy after she completes the job.

Plus, I don’t know why she isn’t in front of the camera. I mean, her mom is Blake Lively and her dad is Reynolds, so you know she is going to be beautiful. Unless she was conceived when he was filming Deadpool, and she takes after Wade Wilson.

New Amsterdam’s 5th season will be its last
March 14th, 2022 under New Amsterdam. [ Comments: none ]

The first two seasons of New Amsterdam did so well in the ratings that NBC gave it a 3 season pickup. However, as the show went on, the viewers didn’t stay with it. Because of that, NBC decided that the 5th season will be its last, according to Deadline. To make matters worse for the fans, like me, who stayed with the medical drama that stars Ryan Eggold, the final season will only be 13 episodes.

While I am not happy with NBC’s decision, I understand why they did. Whoever came up with the idea to have Max (Eggold) leave the hospital to follow love, made a bad decision. It turned the one medical show that was unlike all the other ones and made it like Grey’s Anatomy and Chicago Med. I have to admit, I have been struggling to watch it this season because they took the heart out of New Amsterdam.

Dolly Parton bows out of her Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination
March 14th, 2022 under Dolly Parton. [ Comments: 1 ]

Dolly Parton is nominated to be part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year. According to the voting fans, it looks like she was going to make it in. I say was because today the beloved singer wrote a message to the museum.

Dolly here! Even though I am extremely flattered and grateful to be nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I don’t feel that I have earned that right. I really do not want votes to be split because of me, so I must respectfully bow out.

I do hope that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will understand and be willing to consider me again – if I’m ever worthy. This has, however, inspired me to put out a hopefully great rock ‘n’ roll album at some point in the future, which I have always wanted to do! My husband is a total rock ‘n’ roll freak, and, has always encouraged me to do one. I wish all of the nominees good luck and thank you again for the compliment. Rock on!

Parton is worthy of being in there with all of the music she has created and the accomplishments she has achieved in her over 50-year career. I mean, she wrote Jolene and I Will Always Love You on the same day! She also came up with the music for 9 to 5 by playing it on her nails. I could go on. She deserves to be there along with this year’s other noms, Duran Duran, Eminem, Pat Benetar, and Eurythmics, who are looking like they will make it in.

But, that is Dolly for you. She doesn’t want the credit for being who she is. Because of that, she deserves all the accolades she turns down.

We should aspire to be like her, as should every Rock star who comes after her.

Oh, and by her dropping out, it looks like Judas Preist will be joining the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame. Unless the American Idol fans start voting for Lionel Richie like they are voting for the next American Idol.
