NBC announced today that it picked up New Amsterdam for not one, not two, but for three more seasons. That means as of now it will last one more season than This Is Us. Personally, I think the medical drama is better than the other one these days. However, the leading gives NA good ratings, so I am OK with it.
If you have not seen the show, you should check it out. It is one of the rare medical dramas that is not about the illness of the week. It is about caring for the patient in a system that is not set up for that anymore. Yes, there is the soapy part of the show, but it is not cheesy.
That is why New Amsterdam was my favorite show of last season and my must watch live one of this season. It is that enticing.
