Yesterday at 5p, for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, several Viacom stations, including Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, BET, and MTV went black. That is the amount of the time that the murdering police officer had his knee on George Floyd’s neck. As Floyd’s life was leaving his body, he screamed, “I can’t breathe.”
Those three words were written on the black screen as we listened to someone struggling to breathe for that amount of time. Sit and listen to each breath, and let your anger take over you. That is why we peacefully protesting in the streets. That is why we are saying never again. This needs to stop. No one deserves to die like that, and no one ever should again.
Floyd’s voice was silenced, ours will speak louder for him. This needs to end now. Let’s work on a solution so that Floyd’s, and all of the innocent people who were murdered by bad cops, deaths were not in vain.
We are all people who bleed red, and we need to stop judging people by their skin color. We need to judge them for who they are as individuals.

Remember last year when Jussie Smollett said that he was racially attacked by white men, and Chicago police searched for his attackers. Only for them to say that they discovered that he hired two African-American men to do the alleged hate crime.
Since that reveal, he has mostly been silent. Today, on a day when people in the entertainment industry are having a day of social media silence in order to put down the phones and hold an online protest to denounce the injustice of Black people in American by criminal system, he decided to speak out.
He said, “I was confused exactly by what this #BlackOutTuesday meant. After watching what a few of our leaders, particularly our Black female leaders like Britney and Patrice, this #BlackOutTuesday was never meant for us to silence our voices. Social media has been an incredible tool to pulling the lid off of the lies and showing and exposing the truth. Something we have not gotten from the media. It is not the time for people to silence their voices. it is actually the time for white people to bear witness to our voices.

If you have watched Tiger King on Netflix, then you know that Tampa’s big cat owners Joe Exotic and Carol Baskin, have been feuding for years. Their feud got so bad that he hired a hitman to kill her. Now, he is behind bars for 22 years because of that.
Back in 2013, Exotic lost a $1 million trademark infringement case to Baskin, and never paid her the money. Well, now he is from jail, and he is not going to like the latest development in the case. That is because The Tampa Bay Tribune is reporting that a judge has ruled that Baskin is the now property owner of Exotic’s Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park in Oklahoma to pay off the settlement.
The judge further said that Jeff Lowe, his wife, and all of the animalS must be off the property in the next 90 days. Baskin said if they cannot move the animals to their new location in time, she has found places that will take of them. Not in the same way that Exotic did. Besides being in jail for attempting to murder his arch-nemesis, he is also in there for shooting five tigers.
I can’t wait to see this episode play out during the second season of Tiger King.
